Tensions with India have cooled off, US is to be thanked for it: Qureshi

Any doubts after this message? :)

Remember: India will [always] want to fuel discord between US and Pakistan. We should up our diplomatic game, and not fall for this Indian trap.

Pakistan has considerable geopolitical significance and potential; US would want to work with Pakistan in the long-term.

but according to orya maqbol jan ,zaid hamid and haqeqat tv ghaza e hind abhi he honi hay. if you listen to the it seems they want war with india. emotional people are found on both sides of the border but in india the number of fanatics is higher.

Uncle Sam to the rescue, as often happens. Also predictable. :D

Actually, Uncle Sam's first reaction was 'India has the right of self defense'. I think it was said by both Pomeo and Bolton. Obviously, yes, go ahead and attack. If attacked already, then keep attacking. It was ONLY after it became apparent that India was not going to have the cake walk as expected then the calls for 'restraints' came.

Same thing happened with the Turkish coup against Erdogan: It was 'hope peace prevails' instead of condemning the illegal coup. It was ONLY after the coup was being crushed then the love of democracy came.

Same thing always happen when Israelis bomb Gaza: Israel has the right of self defense. It's only after enough Gazans are killed that calls for peace and restraints are raised.

That SMQ had to thank Uncle Sam... is an attempt to keep Uncle involved now that Uncle is involved. Because Pakistan doesn't want a war.

There will be no war by either side, I will clearly tell all of PDF that, again.

USA still regards the original Indian attack as a counter-terror operation and it was done in consultation. The lesson here that everyone seems to be ignoring due to the headrush is that this shot across the bow is only to make Pakistan realize that it needs a new policy in a different direction in certain matters. The ball is in Pakistan's court, clearly, and it will make decisions to suits its own perceived national interests, as always. What it chooses to do in these certain matters remains to be seen.

Things will calm down for sure, but certain changes have to be made, the easy way or the hard way.

stop employing pathological liars at the position of FM. Was 1971 not a lesson enough that these feudal lords cannot think beyond their own glorification?

Not Qureshi. But the newspaper should highlight that despite what the FM would like to project, things have not cooled down between Pakistan and India.
El Sidd Sahib, esteemed member of PDF, I hope and pray that one day you start your own paper and show the world what real journalism looks like.

If you imply the new Pak policy should be against the bearded fundos who wreak havoc in the region then I am all for that. However, there are enough PDF members here who will come up with theories of India/US alliance countering China and those theories have such solid basis that even NY Times admits that. So...the bearded fundos maybe neutralized--then what will be the next 'Do More'?!
You seem to have a very charitable and perhaps naive opinion of the geopolitical situation in Pakistan.

And maybe one day you can keep a good memory and not get bitten by the same snake every time you walk the garden of Eden.

Days or maybe even hours from now we will be discussing oh things got escalated and then?

I understand the situation in Pakistan quite well, actually. Let us see what the Pakistani leadership decides to do in the coming months as it is all up to them. Rearranging the deck chairs may not work this time, that is all I will say here, but it is hard to change deep seated policies and biases in Pakistan.

Bach gaye rey Obama

With each passing day , pakistan reactions on escaping a war with India is becoming more & more entertaining.

I don't know what geopolitical significance and potential you are talking about. As far as US is concerned, Pakistan is in China's camp, and that's enough to put it against US interests.

Further, US is clearly in India camp after Pulwama/Balakot incidents. US response to India's attack was muted, at best. They implicitly support India's actions.

Dawn is halal now?

Why did Mr. Qureshi not mention Iran? Iran was one of the first countries to both threaten and offered to mediate during the tensions which are escalating despite his statement.
Kind of Kosher ...
