I am not the one speaking in defence of bigotry, that is ALL you
Bigotry and discrimination in hiring school staff in xtian management schools in kerala might not be a "non issue" to you, not to me. Not since of the 3340 schools in kerala, Hindus manage only 194. That is a ratio of 160:1
The rest of the govt. schools is always under a education minister who has been from a "minority" community for the last 45 years.
Since the RTE (Right to Education) law was passed in parliament in 2009 that mandates 25% of seats reserved for disadvantaged students (in kerala that usually means Hindu) a record number of schools in kerala has run to be registered for "Minority status" that give preference to xtian and muslim students for admission. 1100 in 2009-10, 677 in 2011 and 670 in 2012. i.e. a total of 2447 schools. 2013 numbers are awaited. SO not only does the bigotry and discrimination exit for hiring staff, it even exists for educating hindu students .............. yes we can all see how much respect mallu's have for each other. Religious differences is just our 'bigoted imagination'
Guess we can all see who the bigots really are. Even if they try to wear the burqa of secularism, the shoe of bigotry still fit and shows through.
What the **** did I just read?? Offcource the evil christians are bad by educating people.. Can you show me a single example were discrimination is there in admitting students?? And 25% for disadvantage students is not for minorities.. But for students who have some sort of issues like handicap, hearing issues, having difficulty in understanding etc.. Nice way to twist it for your own benefit.. There is no religion involved in that reservations. In early days Christians funded a lot of educations institutions which helped in making Kerala literate.Thats why you see the schools run by christian management is higher in numbers.. Even though government provides salary for the teachers in many schools, the infra structure of the schools are developed by the management itself. There are large number of students from every religions studying in these kind of schools.. Instead of finding faults in every thing Christians and Muslims do, take a grasp at how these schools helped in educating students in Kerala..
What ROT.
Kerala is literate because the movement to educate people in kerala started when multiple "viharas" were opened right in the 8th centuries. There was an entire caste of people dedicated to teaching called the Ezhuthupallie, who used to be teachers and writers and record keepers.
Education was never exotic in Kerala. There is no other state where the love of learning had so early an origin or has exercised so lasting and powerful an influence. Kerala had its own centre of learning at Mathilakam, where scholars of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism resided and taught sanskrit and Tamil.
Literacy was very high in kerala even during the sangam age, including FEMALE education.
In the 10th century the Chera's under Kulasekhara Varma was well known for starting schools and colleges called Chalas or Salais which later became kalsasala and Padasala, which is equivalent to our modern day college and schools.
The best part was these were boarding schools and such Chalas were spread throughout kerala, predominant among them were the chalas in Kandalur , Parthivasekh arapuram, Tiruvalla, and Muzhikulam. Everything from Philosophy, Grammar, Law, Geology, Mathematics to Medicines were taught there.
The Chalas were followed by the Mutts in the 13th century where literacy was paramount and philosophy was taught at senior levels. Every 9 years debates were held to identify scholars and they were honoured, thus encouraging education among the masses.
Every village had someone from the Ezithufhupali and a padsala with a teacher called Asan. This village level educational institution survived right till the British came.
It was the british who outlawed these schools along with the various other schools of Kalari and Gurukulams which taught Astrology and Medicine to their students.
The first christian school was set up only in the 16th century. In fact till the early 19th century the Syrian Christians were at the bottom of the education laddar and this is admitted by Syrians themselves. you can refer P. Cheriyan, The Malabar Syrians and the Churchh Miksiionaiy Society. It highlights how massive efforts were required to educate the syrian Christians.
Marthanda Varma gave a massive push to education during his time too and he was pretty generous in giving out grants for starting schools.
However the greatest push to education in Kerala came from Rani Gouri Lakshmi Bai and Gouri Parvati Bai in 1810 when she took up education as a mission.
Unfortunately it was also under her the management of schools started going into Christian hands since all her education policies were implemented by Col. Munro, a devout evangelical christian who was her Dewan, and hence the defacto Ruler.
It was Col. Munro who tied up with Church Missionay Society (CMS) in England to send over "missionary help" to educate the syrian christians. It was he who started the CMS (Church Missionay Society () college, Kottayam with money given by Rani Gouri Lakshmi Bai.
It was Munro who again got London Missionary Society to start Seminary at Nagercoil in 1818.
It was Munro who encouraged missionaries to start schools in kerala to encourage conversions.
It was Col. Munro who stole all the land from kerala temples and gave it to the missionary schools and at the same time put the temples under state control.
It was Col. Munro who forced english to be taught at schools replacing the local language and thus sow seeds that would slowly kill it.
IT was Rani Gouri Parvati Bai who took out a proclamation in 1817 that said ,
"The state should defray the entire cost of the education of its people in order, that there might be no backwardness in the spread of enlightenment among them, that by diffusion of education they might become better subjects and public servants and that the reputation of the state might be advanced thereby."
It was Rani Gouri Parvati Bai declaration of 1817 to set up vernacular schools AT STATE EXPENSE in ALL VILLAGES with compulsory attendance for all children between the ages of 4 and 10 that finally lead kerala to full literacy.
It is Amazing and Disgusting to see kerala Christians attempting to take credit for the entire social and political efforts of Hindus to educate themselves. .......that kind of propaganda might work on the already dumbed up pass out of the kerala brainwashing system, but it does not work on people who are aware of ground realities.
As to the ABSURD allegation that 25% reservations promised by RTE is for the physically handicapped is laughable ........ only retards would buy that argument.
By Seiko's estimate 25% of Kerala's children are handicapped. Is there something in Kerala's water that is creating these handicapped children?
Maybe, if beef would have been served, than some would have rattled the whole state. Of course India is a secular state but this doesn't mean that the sentiments of some could be hurt to satisfy some.Secularism Kerala style....
The teacher already warned Muslim students about pork....Then why such a big issue..?
Is India an islamic state....???
Why medias are ignoring this news..?
