Drdl is already manufacturing components of upgraded version of akash and trishul missile. There is also a new upcoming missile for navy called HSVAC. We will have to wait. sooner we will see the test!

So basically all the funds are in place, it's DRDO which is repeatedly proving to be incompetent.
Once the foreign technologies are inducted, what would happen to the often used term.....indigenous.

DRDO isn't incompetent,the amount of their products in service is large and the fields in which they've contributed is massive,but yeah they do lag in several critical fields.

Well keeping aside the nationality issue,
Icannot understand how you indians can bear these stupid goons in defence establishment who take away so much funds in the name of r&d when there are so much vacuum in social developement.
I mean is there no accountability in india for all those waste resources?
I mean compare Economy and defence budget of India with Countries like South Africa, Turkey, Sweden and Brazil and what does this DRDO comes with exept excuses?
This is not fair man. I mean in our country we have 10 times less defence budget then India and here media and Politicians always criticize every single panny of defence.

Don't compare the defence budget,compare the annual R&D budget of DRDO.It's actually much less.

And what Brazil and Turkey??Just take a look at the percentage of imported subsystems in their products!!Take for example the Altay MBT of Turkey,other than the name and a few electronic components,virtually nothing is of Turkish origin!!Even when they've a firm order for atleast a thousand tanks!!

Same story for attack choppers - again,very few components of Turkish origin.

Same story for your MBRL - license manufactured Chinese systems.

So please,keep your Chickens and Turkeys to yourself and stop wasting our time.It's rather ignominious for us to be compared with Turkish or the Brazilians for that matter.

you are seeing only the project which are stuck not the one which are going smoothly ...
look, every one always sees the failure but not the success that is what human nature is..

annual budget of DRDO is very very less with that they doing pretty good job not saying excellent ...another thing is lot of project is going on together financing then become thin in various project.

and about scrutiny of expenditure , i think that why you are hearing the news or purpose of this thread.

he is not and things have started rolling but until or unless they make it mandatorry for every IIT(or all top govt funded engenearing institutes) grad to work for DRDO for at least 3 years and increases the "salarry & Perks" + rien in the chacha bhatija culture and make the project heads accountable things will not reach the desired level

as for the thread tell me one DRDO project finished in time and withowt time and money escalations
