Temple committee builds house for Muslims in Kerala

....when the Government appointed Devastanam controls the appointment of poojaris, salaries, expenses and donations do you really think they can be barred from the moolasthanam or the sanctity of the temple can be preserved ?

Poojari's pay couple of Lakhs to ministers to get appointed to these positions.

The going rate to get appointed as Tantri of major temples in Kerala is 10 Lakhs .

One of the chief Tantri of 'Shabarimala', 'Kantararu Mohanaru' was caught in a sex scandal with a prostitute in the house of a Mrs. John, and pictures where provided by 'Bechu Rahman' who works for Dawood Ibrahim and is the main supplier of fake currency in Kerala.

The Tantri continues to be in Shabrimala Ayyappa temple ! ..... imagine this in Shabrimala ...where even to visit the temple you have to abstain from sex and where women are not even allowed to enter !

this is not good our religion dosen't preach us religious
discrimination non hindus should be allowed to visit hindu temples

Why you people failed to understand simple facts? non-hindus allowed into temples not into Karpagirha because they may eaten beef/NV b4 enter into temples, whether they took bath or not we don't know, even he enters he/she will worship our gods? and they may refuse take prasatham or swamy tilak its would be an insult and many factors are there.

..this is the problem. We have too many people giving opinion on Hinduism without know anything about Hinduism.

...non hindu's can visit temple complex but to visit the main temple you need to conduct yourself as per Agama shastra.

This means taking a bath before going to a temple, maintaining silence, maintain humility, not desecrate Teertha and prasadam, not to enter temple after consuming alcohol, not to enter temple when you have communicable diseases, not to enter temple when you are asaucham especially during sütakam and mritakam.

Non Hindus do not know these rules hence they are prevent from entering the temple.

Amazing, that why India will always be respected amongst nations and I know that's why India, France, Israle and a lot of other nations will in the future make this world a better place.

We loved our holiday in India and we can't wait to get back end of 2013.

Non Hindus should not enter Temples,no changing rules because some kid's ideal crystal ball gets to break.

What ur suggesting is against the core tenets of hinduism .U come accross as a rigid person to me.As long as no one is disrespecting anything entering is in no way wrong. In fact it allows better understanding .Temples infact are later additions to the original vedic religion in which people simply gathered with their families and sang/recited hymns under the sky as prayer.

How are you to prove you are a hindu?? My cousin who is married to a mexican lady has two teenage daughters who have hindu names but do not look Indian. They have been raised with both hindu and catholic background. They go to temples with their father and church with their mom. Is the name good enough to prove you are a hindu?

Priests cannot act like police men inside the temple, hence the shastra's recommend prevention being better than the cure.

Agama is rooted in Tantra which pre dates the Vedas and is mother to Jainism and even Buddhism. Tantra shashtra deal with god as 'Sakala' (Attributes and Manifestations though which god can be approached) and Vedic traditions (also know as 'Nigama') mostly deals with god as 'Nishkala' (all-pervasive, neither explicit nor visible). Both are parallel tenents of Hinduism.

Temple worship is Tantra which is why the poojari is called a 'tantri'. Worship is throught rituals (Tantra), symbolic charts (Yantra) and verbal symbols (Mantra). Its personal in nature and deals with one to one communication to god.

Vedic ritual is mainly 'Yajna' (fire worship of Parsis) and is communal in nature with multiple priests and community involvement.

As to how we can identify a 'hindu', its by his demeanor, dress and behavior in a temple. No one asks for a 'certificate'. Its an article of faith. If you dont have faith, dont come.

On a side note ....Dalits (lower caste) were not allowed inside temples earlier due to their ignorance of Agama Shastra. Dichotomy was no one bothered to teach it to them either.

Many of them (most?) ate meat, drank alcohol, and in earlier days where there was no plumbing, bathing was also not a daily activity. Not to mention availability of clean clothes. With advancement in modern plumbing and translation of religious texts into English/regional languages gave them access to scriptures of Hiduism making their entry into temple easier.

Then they cant enter the temple, simple as that.

If they do enter, let them but if it is found out that they are beef munchers, then they gotta leave the central premises.
