The facade of the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality building wore red, white, black and golden hues on Friday night as it was lit up in solidarity with Egypt, which suffered a mass casualty terror attack on Friday.

The municipality building, situated in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square, donned the colors of the Egyptian flag in an official expression of Israel's support of its southern neighbor, as Egypt continues to reel from the attack that claimed the lives of at least 235 worshipers at a mosque in the northern Sinai after Friday prayers.

"A horrific attack in Egypt. We send our condolences to our friends across the border and light the Municipality building in their honor," wrote Huldai on Twitter.
Reuters reports that witnesses saw terrorists enter the mosque to kill worshipers during Friday prayers, when mosques see the largest attendance. The attack began around noon time. They also attempted to prevent rescue services from reaching the area.

No group claimed responsibility for the assault but it was the deadliest yet in the region where for three years Egyptian security forces have battled an Islamic State insurgency that has killed hundreds of police and soldiers.

Sinai has been the scene of increasingly deadly attacks as security forces fight against terror networks associated with an ISIS-affiliate.

The iconic Tel Aviv building was similarly illuminated with the Egyptian flag in May 2017 to commemorate the victims of a deadly attack on a bus carrying Coptic Christians in Cairo. Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.

Israeli ministers on Friday expressed solidarity with Egypt following a deadly terror attack in a north Sinai mosque that claimed at least 200 lives, with one calling for “a regional front” against jihadists.

They also used the attack as a platform to attack Iran.

On Twitter, Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) offered “condolences to the families of the dozens of people murdered in the terror attack on a mosque in Sinai” and said the Jewish state “stands shoulder to shoulder with Egypt and other countries in region and the international arena in the war against radical Islamic terror.”

In a Hebrew tweet, he also said “Radical Islam is striking indiscriminately and murdering Muslims as well. It’s time to form a regional front against Iran’s Shiite terrorism and Islamic State’s Sunni terror.”

Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) offered condolences and said: “The murderous terror attack is testimony to the fact that a new world order is being created around us, in which the distinction is between terror supporters like Iran and [IS] and supporters of humanity.

“This is a time for international unity in the war on terror wherever it presents itself: Russia, Europe, the US, Israel and the Arab world — we have all been hurt by terror and must unite in our battle against it. If the enlightened world unites, we will prevail and win.”

Egyptian officials said gunmen in four off-road vehicles bombed the mosque and fired on worshippers, killing at least 200 people and wounding 130.

Egypt has been battling militants in the restive Sinai region, including the Egyptian affiliate of the Islamic State.

The jihadists attacked the al-Rawdah mosque in the town of Bir al-Abd, 40 km (25 miles) from the North Sinai provincial capital of el-Arish, opening fire on worshippers inside during the sermon, three police officers said.

Victims were being transferred to local hospitals, they added, speaking on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to brief reporters. They said the attackers had blocked escape routes from the area by blowing up cars and leaving the burning wrecks blocking the roads.

Egypt’s state news agency reported the casualty toll, citing “official sources,” revising it upward several times following the officials’ initial reports.

I think Israel and Egypt must join their forces and do a Massive Operation in Sinai .. Town by Town, city by City and House by House , clear this beautiful earth from the presence of the Scum of Terrorism.

Been here before. These gestures are becoming diluted because it happens so often now. I wish the Arab states would realise they can't control radicalism like a tap. They can't promote Jihad, Jew hatred, hatred of the west on TV and in their mosques, then expect to be immune from the hatred that is whipped up.

Same thing happened in Pakistan. They allowed radicalism to grow because it was aimed at India and the west. Then it ended up turning on Pakistan itself.

The Arab world needs zero tolerance on extremism. Every Imam found preaching any hatred against anyone should be banned from Mosques. Any teachers in schools doing the same should be sacked and banned from teaching.

Spare us the crocodile tears. No one in Israel gives a hoot about these killings and that is just the truth.

In a Hebrew tweet, he also said “Radical Islam is striking indiscriminately and murdering Muslims as well. It’s time to form a regional front against Iran’s Shiite terrorism and Islamic State’s Sunni terror.”

It is funny though how the Israelis are trying to pin this on Iran. Do these jerks even know that Sufi's are Sunni's too? LOL at Islamic State's Sunni terror. What an unbelievable ignorant retards.

We all agree that the message of Islam is peaceful.. but that applies in ordinary circumstances.. Islam also calls for self-defence in case of extraordinary states of affairs..One should not forget the causes behind these Islamic fundamentalism dynamics,,The crusaders cause a lot of harm to Muslims in those times.. and they were European Christians,, they didn't even spare the native Middle eastern Christians.. then in more recent times their descendants still harmed Muslims through colonisation and a lot of mischief.. which bring us to the Arab-Usraeli conflict, where mostly European Jews backed by their European Christian friends have caused harm to Muslims of the region..So in fact, this has nothing to do with religion, the truth and historic reality facts point more to a race war than to a religion war..since we find the same "European players" across time..
No one has allowed radicalism to grow, it just grew by itself in response to harmful acts imposed on Muslim nations..and since the majority of Muslim nations' governments can not take on the new crusaders..these radicalist movements grow on their own in response to the frustration.. and might find support from some parts of the population.. No Muslim government promotes Jew hatred, Usrael does it much better when it attacks and kills civilians in Gaza, or Lebanon, or Syria..
For the conflict between India and Pakistan we find Kashmir as the core issue.. with many hands playing both sides against each other.. Usrae got involved in there too..overtly by sending military advisors to India..as well as covertly supporting India, although the issue is a UN one..

In this instance of the Sinai terrorism.. the closest nation that can support it is again Usrael, since no one is fool enough to believe that heavy weapons and light weapons in numbers, as well a big quantities of explosives will come across Egypt from Libya without being noticed..But there is no way Egypt can stop these weapons coming from Usrael 300km long borders with Egyptian Sinai..food for thought..

They just put out some crocodile tears and we Pakistanis get instant orgasms lol.

How quickly such weak people forget about Israel's crimes...

And tbh considering how spineless Egypt's current government is, it is totally possible they this was orchestrated by themselves to get rid of two birds with one stone.
