Tejas Performs F-1 Formula Manoeuvre !

Seriously Indians, we know that your LCA Tejas has spent a lot of time being dragged around on a trailer but was it necessary to coin it with a road worthy term. Just listen to the announcer at around 4 minutes into the video.
It's also worth noting that Tejas after taking off, still needs to fly along the runway before pulling up. Why can't it pull up like say JF-17 does as soon as it lifts off the runway. Here we see Tejas take off at 0.36 and fly down the runway in full afterburn for 12 seconds before pulling up at 0.48 seconds. At this rate even the old Mirages can pull up vertically. It also seems that Tejas bleeds too much speed during turns and as for sustained turn, the less said the better.

Brain would be dangerous for some, is that a standard Tejas landing on a deck....and certainly not many countries if any would take 30 years to make a jet air worthy...as most would be in process of phasing them out.

Can't comment on the take off performance as it might have been on purpose but the display was very lackluster with lot of time flying level. Boring

It's always been the case with Tejas display, take off......long stretch before pulling up. Unlike your regular jocks, display pilots are supposed to push the aircraft to it's limits.....talking of lackluster....check the display by the SU-30.

It wasnt a bad display , almost as good as the one by Dassault in 1960’s of the Mirage III.

Could be better if they were not playing it this ridiculously safe especially when that aircraft has one of the world’s best written flcs laws, extremely reliable engine and not to mention the best WVR pilots in the world.

Suffice to say that the French delta legend of 60s lives on in Tejas.
Realistically i do look forward to these displays without discrimination. The PAF doesn't enjoy the luxury that some other air forces including the IAF enjoys. The PAF display pilots are your regular instructors or squadron leaders, who perform aerobatics as a side kick. The IAF does have dedicated display pilots for some of the aircraft.
Looking at the SU-30 performance, with the exception of couple of half hearted TVC moves, the rest of the display is reminiscent of B-57 Bombers.
The Indians could do well to bring in some professional announcer for the Basanti on the mike was telling audience......''If you listen carefully, you will hear the thunderous sound of afterburners''.
