IN didn't reject the LCA-N. They said that it won't be inducted in the current form since it can't jump with full load. But they're prototypes, of which only two exist. Indeed, the project took a hit in the last two three years, but it's back on track now with trials resuming. The hook was tested recently multiple times. The operational version will differ. From what i hear from the Indians that Tejas is already been rejected by IN , if there are no Orders from the IAF or IN so will the GoP will just shove Tejas down their throats ?
my Point is been MK2 been the ultimate plane, cause it will be foolish of IAF to not upgrade all those old existing Tejas to Mk2 Standards, the point it should carry a good package with it in order to stay relevant after a decade .
No, J-10 Doors are close forever, if you follow up JF threads you'll know that JF evolution has taken the same path as J-10 , there is no need for J-10 but additional JF and F-16 ( if Possible ) .
You've to note that the naval version is a very different machine. Can't be compared to the AF LCA, Tejas.
GoI has no need to force it on the AF. It needed some convincing to have them induct the non-FOC Mk1, that's all. But IAF can't wait to have a higher production rate and the Mk1A first flight.
Mk1/Mk1A cannot be upgraded to Mk2. Mk1 will be upgraded to Mk1A and then retire, thus completing its duty of kickstarting the industry, giving birth to Mk2 and AMCA.
