Technocrat govt can't resolve Pakistan's issues: PM Abbasi

What sort of future? The same future I saw thirty years ago is the present now. And the future we can see 10, 20 or 30 years from now will be worse still, as I keep mentioning (and keep paying the price for saying the blunt truth).

Waiting for a messiah is a choice. Or trusting one's own hard work. A choice. Not paying heed to those who speak up is also a choice. :D

Oh well when you don't learn from history, you keep repeating it. There was a European ambassador, I don't remember from which country. He said something about this country drifting from bad to worse, in the sixties, thats when this country was, at its peak. Imagine.

People aren't interested in acknowledging the nature and extent of the problem let alone devise a strategy to tackle it. Just give them feel-good arguments, posts and articles. Most of the time and most of them, twist the facts and narrative to divert blame from the actual culprits. Conspiracy theories, wild guessing e.t.c are preferred, even when clear facts are visible. And we have a very bad national habit of attacking the messengers, instead of the message, which accomplishes nothing of course. Except for causing an increase in entropy (disorder). Why waste time in calling names or abusing or personal attacks, when its more constructively spent in debunking arguments, refuting or accepting the facts or acknowledging a problem? Por Que?

I really cannot add much to your post above. Thank you for being honest. I appreciate it, although futile, as always in changing anything (even here on PDF, given your exalted title).

And then we have exchanges like this:

Not saying that at all. Its just that contrary to your view, its not all gloom & doom.

Sent from my SM-G610F using Defence.pk mobile app

To which my reply:

Fair enough, I am willing to be educated. Can you please list three things that you feel have reasons to be optimistic about, and three things that you feel have reasons to be pessimistic about, so that we may have a rational discussion (if you are so inclined)?

....... met with dead silence. Nothing. Nada. :D

When not even a rational discussion is possible at this level of seniority, what hope can there be for this forum?

And then we exchanges like this:

Absolutely disgusting, and pretty incredulous, to say the least! But, then again, as we established, why expect anything different from PDF as it is indeed a representative microcosm of Pakistan.

========================

AAAAAAAAnd, getting back to the topic, not much change can be expected from a "Tehnocrat" government, since it will rely to the same cadre of people as are promoted here. "Cream rises to the top, except ....... " :D

I know. I would really like for the quality of posts to improve in this forum, because lately whenever I log in. Most of the posts I see are one liners, troll, flame baits e.t.c and nothing worthy of reading. And unfortunately, those are the ones getting the most of the likes thus encouraging the poster to continue the pathetic behavior. It wasn't always like that, moderation used to be a lot tight back then. Ah, its just a title.

Well, if you can't change things in the society, at least change yourself for the better. That is in everyone's power and that is the best, one can muster in hopeless circumstances. Introspection, self improvement and fighting hypocrisy within oneself are extremely necessary for a person. Pakistan Defense Forum has taught me a lot of things, seriously a lot. The most useful of them has always been "what not to become".

And yet I choose to remain engaged. That alone says a lot, for those who can understand. What I cannot become is disengaged. :D

What perplexes me is just how many people does it take to change a forum? Why cannot the status quo that you lament be changed? It must be a choice made by someone. A choice. I do not know who, but you might. And try to change their mind(s) to initiate the changes that you believe in.

Walking away, or hiding in hidden sub-forums, endlessly reinforcing one's own biases is no way to run a forum. Or a country.

Back to the topic: Technocrats? Just what does this mean? Able people with technical abilities needed to do the job? Or just chosen people who are not politicians?

Seeing that you are trolling all the time and provoking to get a reaction, ignoring you is a sound decision. In the above case, it was an excellent decision.

It is just mature to let something slide out of view. The point may be minor, or the addressee may be too dumb. In any case, I do not live to post on PDF. I sleep perfectly well at night after deciding to ignore something or someone.

Live and let live. Peace.

I was not addressing you here Sir, just making a point to someone else.

On the sly... apparently.

What do you get out of it, really? I mean if you are on a crusade of some sort, there are better and more productive ways for you to go about it. Why waste your time here?

I have lived in the UAE for quite some time and seen young Pakistanis with bachelors, masters, double masters and what-not do security work in Dubai.

Pakistani taking up security job in UAE must be reported to PPP.
During Zardari rule, we almost went to war with Bahrain for posting security job offers in Pak news.

We all know, we had a chance to position our youth in UAE better than Indians, but we lost it to sectarian rats of Pakistan, who not only prevented Pakistan from taking the lead role in military alliance of 40 countries, but they took there war to undiplomatic level, involving official cursing in senate, parliament and foreign office... reason alliance was organized by Arabs.
Face it.... our generations will suffer and curse those, who lead the misleading drive.
