Pakistanisage, I will tell you why people are opposed because in reality Islam is bringing death and war, oppression and backwardness. Of course you as a religious man probably won't accept that but open your eyes and show me a single country where it worked.

Not necessary to say that the same goes with each religion, except for maybe Buddhism.

Actually, I am not overly religious but I have healthy respect for truly religious Muslims. Most of my ancesters were very religious Muslims and they taught me to love and respect Islam. The terrorist do not represent Islam. The Muslims that represent Islam are hundreds of Millions of ordinary Muslims who are peaceful and honest people who go about their decent lives and look after their families. I am sure you know a lot of good decent Turkish Muslims who are peaceful and respectful and respectable.

The problem with people like you is you are brainwashed by the Western media and lack the common sense to make an independent Judgement. There are good and bad people in every religion and every society. As for your comment about Buddhism, it just goes to prove your immaturity and lack of intelligence. If you think everyone in Buddhist countries is an angel, please read about KHMER ROUGE of Buddhist land of Cambodia. They butchered over 2 million people. You should get out more often, I think you have been living a very sheltered life, Genius ( I am using this word sarcastically).

.
So your an atheist?

I'm agnostic, which is a small but important difference.

"O ye who disbelieve....." (Quran 109:1)
".....To you be your Way, and to me mine" - Quran 109:6

"If anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind" - Quran 5:32

Don't be ignorant

Actually I like your quote from the Quran and will use it in future to remind people to leave me the **** alone, because according to your god and religion its up to him to decide. Not to the average Muslim. This is what buggs me the most, my family is cool with me. However many people go nuts.

I know a lot of peaceful Turkish-Muslims, but Erdogan and his background is not the peaceful one. He's a Fetullah Güllen sympathizer (or not anymore, we can't tell). This man did a lot of good to this country, but he's taking it to far with his religion.

It's really interesting by the way that you actually claim that I'm the one who is brainwashed while millions of people only read that one book and whereas I read Newspapers from Asia to America and read books from Muslims to Jews.

About the Buddhist part, I didn't know the Khmer were Buddhists. But on the other hand they could also claim (like most Muslims do everytime something bad happens)

they're not real Buddhists

they didn't follow the *insert equivalent of Quran, Thora or Bible*

In that case I take back the Buddhist part. Seems like every religion leads to suffering.

I am glad you read many newspapers but you need to keep an open mind. If you keep an open mind you will realize that Muslims are very diverse people just like any other Human Being. Muslims are not a Monolithic Entity and they come in all shapes and sizes and shades of colors and beliefs. Try not to paint with a broad brush. The way you portray Muslims, it appears from your comments that you believe there is only one kind of Muslim.

I teach at NEW YORK UNIVERSITY and my students don't think I am a terrorist or an extremist. Yet you assumed I am a religious person just because I defended Muslims and Islam. Try to differentiate between true Islam and some misguided Muslims. I will teach you how to differentiate between a true Muslim and a fake one.

A TRUE MUSLIM TRIES TO CHANGE HIMSELF ACCORDING TO THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAM. A FAKE MUSLIM TRIES TO CHANGE OTHERS.

.
yes palestine looks like heaven from here
No such thing as Palestine and those arabs are not Israeli citizens, nor will they ever will be.
It'll be like adding 3 million of you to Israel, but worse.

I wouldn't think a person like you, Luffy 500, would understand the vast difference between my people and yours.
If you`re ever lucky enough to visit Israel in your lifetime, you`ll see for yourself.

.
A TRUE MUSLIM TRIES TO CHANGE HIMSELF ACCORDING TO THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAM, AND TRIES TO PREACH OTHERS INTO THE WAY OF ISLAM BY DEBATING AND ARGUING LOGICALLY. A FAKE MUSLIM (HYPOCRITE) TRIES TO CHANGE OTHERS WHILE HE HIMSELF IS A BIG SINNER AND DOESN'T PRACTICE FAITH.

Corrected

.
I'm sorry if I made my self sound like an ignorant bastard. My family and many of my friends are Muslims. I live day in and out with Muslims, right now in Germany or in Turkey. I do know that there not every Muslim is the same. As someone (a Turk in Germany) who had to fight with stereotypes his whole life I'm well aware of that. But I like my Muslims like it is in Turkey: secular and open minded. With non-religious and religious people. With Muslims and Christians and Jews. With Turks, Kurds, Armenians and Greeks. No separation, no differentiation.
But Erdogan is trying to change that and I don't know a single country where you can find the things I like and stated above and a religious government. This is what scares me.

Now that you made me curious, would you tell us what you're teaching (if it's not to personal)?

Corrected

Please correct me if I'm wrong but you're only allowed to preach/debate someone if he wants to, am I right?

.

Yes of course, your own rabbis prove your superiority:

"All gentile children are animals" - Yebamoth 98a, Talmud

And I don't think any of us dream of visiting the occupied territories

In Islam, preaching is considered to be a prophetic act, since no more prophets come after the Seal (Muhammed PBUH), it's our duty to carry the message on. And no, forced conversions do not exist!

But preaching is optional to be honest but it is encouraged. No body is forced to preach.

And yes, you can only ask "hey, can I tell you this" or "hey, can I ask you this" etc. Of course you can't force the other person to listen to you, but at least try

If i quoted all the things about beheading, cutting hands off, murdering and all that lovely other phrases from the Qoran... It would fill a few pages.

Besides, everyone wants to visit the Jewish nation, the root of your religion.
How many millions were forced to convert to Islam or face death or at the very least persecution? Who are you kidding? Besides yourself.

.
Israel is not the root of any Abrahamic religion....

"Besides everyone wants to visit us" nop, not us Muslims. The roots of our religion lie in modern day Saudi Arabia, not Occupied Palestine

And that quotation thing, I say: go on, do it. At the time I'll start quoting all the **** from the bible (eg. GOD is a man of war, or, shave the head of the woman who shows her hair etc) Then we'll both get banned together :yahoo:

About the forced to convert crap...answer me this: how come a nation of a few thousands (new Muslims), originally sedentary bedouins, manage to conquer most of Arabia and much beyond in a few years? Were they donning their long black beards and shouting "Allah hu Akbar" while on a killing spree? LOL, wrong. No matter how you think of it, that's rather a herculean task and impossible.
So what happened? Maybe this happened: all the "conquered" areas were handed over to the Caliphs by the non-Muslim natives because they promised them a greater, better law against their own opressive Kings, or something along those lines

. .
LOL..seriously ? who knows your forefathers were forced to convert to Islam at the sword tip of the Turks or Afghans who invaded the sub-continent...

Or maybe after Sindh and Punjab were conquered by Bin Qasim, and the Muslims started to rule, they eventually turned to the greater side on their own

Besides, when I say forced conversions don't exist I mean they don't exist as per Islamic law or teachings.
I could claim all of Christianity is condemned because Hitler was a devout Catholic. Or all of Orthodox Christianity is damned becayse Stalin was a devout Christian too. Or that Hinduism is damned because Modi encouraged the massacre of several hundred to thousand Muslims :disagree:
Doesn't work that way

.
LOL..seriously ? who knows, there is a fat chance your forefathers were forced to convert to Islam at the sword tip of the Turks or Afghans who invaded the sub-continent...

Masjid Al-aqsa ?

Great. Masjid Al-Aqsa was actually a major point in Islam but it was not the birth place of Islam, what he said was right, somewhere in Saudi Arabi was. Masjid Al-Aqsa was the place where the Prophet migrated. I may have different views because I am Shia

.
Masjid Al-aqsa ?

Third holiest site, besides, most of us prefer to visit Mecca (holiest site) or Medina (where the Prophet is buried) than to visit an old (but beautiful) mosque under Zionist control. Not until Palestine is created anyway, and accepted by ALL countries around the world
