Please leave us alone. How come you are always here? Do you people not have jobs in your utopia?

Haan haan bhai, you nationalists who are ever busy in jobs, multiple college degree courses, cricket watching, religion and other things have developed India to be the ultimate society in the last 75 years. Something that humanity had been waiting for the last 40,000 years.

And do you think this forum is Modi Raj where course correction recommendations and protests can be stifled ? I have the human right to be in any thread where I feel I can contribute.

Sure, just has I have right to have opinion about your stupid thoughts. And YOUR utopian thoughts are useless. Also MODI Raj is much better than any communist Raj or mullah Raj.

Yes, replace the few hundred million petroleum-fueled personal cars and two-wheelers in India with hundreds of millions of lithium-ion battery personal electric vehicles and there certainly will be no pollution at all, no accidents, no crime, no chaos and no disharmony. No surprise that India is among the top three polluters in the world.

But any really sensible governance system will ban personal vehicles and enable public transportation within cities comprising only of buses and taxis, not even those stupid metro trains.
So you want to crush the dreams of almost everyone in the country.

Even European countries love their cars.
At best, you can provide free public transport for the masses. Anyone who values their standard of living will not switch to public transport.

One thing I don't understand, if most of our electricity is generated by burning coal, how are we gonna benefit environmentally by adopting EV?

By switching to alternate mode of generating electricity.

Government needs to tokenize electricity generation, such that I can sell my excess energy back to the grid. This will open up not only rooftops of residential and commercial properties, but also farmlands, where farmers can make excess money by putting solar or wind energy generating facility.

pollution is of 2 types, secondary and primary (direct).
With IC cars , pollution is directly in the cities through vehicle exhaust.
With electric cars, pollution generation is far away from cities in the form of powerplants . Its not a perfect solution but better to pollute sparsely populated areas, rather than crowded areas.

400km range is well within the realm of possibility.
the upgrade is supposed to be revealed in the next 1 week but not confirmed officially by tata.
If they price it right, it will be a game changer.
At 1300 to 1500 usd per 10 kwh of li ion battery pack prices at the moment, a 10 kwh increase from the current 30.2 kwh battery pack, means a increase of max 1500 usd , ie 1.1 lakh inr.
So cheapest ex showroom nexon ev becomes 14.5 plus 1.1 , ie 15.6 lakhs, based purely on battery price.
But the BMS, cooling system, mechanicals, etc also increase to accommodate the larger battery.
So add another 30 % to the 1.1 , thats 1.5 lakhs.
Total price ex showroom- 16 lakhs. - cheapest model , 18.5 lakhs highest end .
If tata tries to increase margins, and puts in a higher price , then it enters MG ev territory, and MG is a more mature model and larger in size.
At present price point , nexon ev has no competition, except from its cheaper offering, tigor ev.
