Also with a much lesser powerful Engine.
In summer, Engine of AC buses of Tata and leyland start screeching while trying to get up on a flyover even when moving at a snail pace, and driver has to switch off AC every time he is accelerating.
I never saw them switching off AC to get up on a flyover even in overcrowded condition, are you sure?
TATA Marcpolo busses are decent but the Volvos are just a step above.
Yes, but why to spend so much extra for a Volvo when these local buses do just fine for city transport. Our roads are so congested that whatever bus you buy; it will become severely dented and useless in 4-5 years.
Or am I becoming too much nationalistic?
A representative picture but not the actual buses to be used, the one in the pic is an Ultra Bus they aren't low floor buses and in a different class to the ones being discussed.
Personally I like the looks of the Corona low floor buses:
Running in Indore:
Corona? First time I am hearing about this one, its website says that they started operation in 2004. Is it a fully Indian company or they have any collaboration with any foreign company? They look very good!
The Ashok Leyland Janbus is also really nice:
Kolkata just started using them:
No doubt the DTC is by FAR the most impressive us operator in all of India, 1000s of modern low-floor buses:
The rest of India has a lot to learn.
Janbus is good but the seating arrangement at the back side is awefull.
