Tarique labels Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib a 'Razakar'

1. Qasim Rizvi and Mir Laik Ali had raised the Razakars / volunteers in Hyderabad to face the impending Indian invasion.
Wrong. The Razakars were raised to uphold the nascent Islamic Hyderabad State. There was no possibiliy of Indian invasion as Hyderbad considered itself under the protection of the Crown and also had a Standstill Agreement with India. Their purpose was to alter the demographics of the State and force the Nizam to turn more hardline. Rizvi became the de-factor ruler of Hyderabad for almost an year.

.
I think you are talking about 7th march. SM never proclaimed independence as there was warning from armed force. If SM did that those people attended the meeting would get killed followed by demolition of Dhaka.

I dont know the credibility of this book stranger in my own country by Khadim Raja. As he didnt disclose the identity of so called strangers who met him before 7th march.

The book was much talked about when published, I saw a review on it in the Daily Star. The narratives by Khadim Raja can't be ignored!

BTW I was referring to '1971: Bhetore Baire'. The proclamation of independence was one of the major disputed issues between Sheikh Mujib and Tajuddin Ahmed, it was also mentioned in the biography of Tajuddin.

Nope, you are parroting the official GOI/Hindu expansionist version.

on 7 March, it makes sense that Sheikh Mujib never proclaimed "independence" in an independent state for which the independence happened in 1947. if East Pakistanis wanted to separate from West, they would have voiced that through the ballot. but they did not. and neither did PAL and SM in their official stance.

If Awami League can call Kader Siddiqui and 2nd in command "razakar" , Sheikh Mujib sure was a razakar. Sheikh Mujib did not want independence but wanted to be PM of Pakistan. So, mujib cult can eat that fresh every time.It is well documented facts even in indira gandhi's statement that mujib did not want independence.
Sheikh Mujib was sure a "razakar" and so was majority of East Pakistani population

. .
Well Tarique would do well if he starts a debate regarding the clear picture of 71 and the real mastermind and beneficiary that was India and how India is screwing BD, rather than arguing only on 71 and mujib. It would be for the greater good of this country to start the debate and remove the taboos regarding this part of our history- concocted and fabricated with myths & fiction. But i don't think the idiot has the caliber nor the competency to realize that.

1971 Bhetore Bahire
I will take this book as credible source as the writer came out of his Awami version of twisted history. And as he was well informed than others as a high rank military official.

According to this book SM had different roles.
1. SM 7th March speech made people aware to equip themselves for coming attacks.
2. SM wasnt sure of what to do and thought of his own life security and wanted to protect his traitor image in then Pakistan as he didnt ever proclaimed independence.
3. SM might have secret pact with WP officials to clean extreme people of his party which also can be found in khadim raja's book. But later Yahia called SM traitor when he was in prison so this cant be true.
SM neither proclaimed neither opposed.

Now AL had different role there
1. Had no idea what to do in attack time scenario.
2. Was pro BD. Like Tajuddin Ahmed who wasnt in favor of any other country. Many local AL leaders actively worked to create BD from in and out. Tajuddin Ahmed can be considered as father of nation than SM. But SM was idol like figure.
3. Pro India fraction, whose activities were diminished by activities of pro BD people.

Bengal Army:
These people actually first taken initiatives to block west pakistanis. And they actually made BD.
East Army was well connected with AL but AL had no clear vision to create BD.
Zia's speech made lots of impact but he wasnt either the first one to proclaim independence. Many AL leaders and radio workers did the same work before him.

Now I was confused with a part there. When Tajuddin Ahmed met with the Jubo AL members in raw office after visiting Indira Gandhi. Why the AL members threatened Tajuddin? What those people wanted. @asad71

1. The Sheikh was a Bengali Muslim Nationalist. He was a bourgeois politician who did not believe in socialism. Till the day he died he believed in The Two Nation Theory.
2. Tajuddin was the darling of the socialists within BAL.He also believed in secular politics which rejected The Two Nation Theory. He secretly believed that Bengali Nationalism would eventually lead to an United Bengal.
3. However the real power in the party had passed to the youth leaders since the myopic handling of the so called Agartala Conspiracy case. RAW had been working meticulously to exploit the situation by infiltrating assets into the BAL youth leadership. They also infiltrated the cultural organizations, writers' guild, Bengali media, etc. All of these were aiming at the formation of Greater Bengal eventually. The so called Four Caliphs were calling all the shots.
4.RAW/Uban Singh formed BLF/Mujib Bahini without the knowledge of Tajuddin and Osmani for creating an axe of their own in BD politics in days to come. This strategic alliance between RAW and BCL/JL is giving dividend to India in today's BD politics.

Can you please give some authentic reference to your 3 and 4 point? No Pakistan leaning source.

A huge material has been written on these in BD. Interviews/statements/writings of some of those student leaders appear now and then. ASM Rab has been quite open on these.
