in what way T-80ud is powerful than T-72upgrading of T-72 ajeya

• A new fire control system: the Drawa-T from PCO-Cenzin of Poland. The Drawa-T is present on the Polish PT-91 tanks, their much improved variant of the T-72, and a muzzle reference system.

• A thermal imager integrated with the Drawa-T fire control system, supplied by Israel's El-Op.

• New radios: DRDO's and BEL's (Bharat Electronics Ltd) state-of-the-art frequency hopping combat net radio, to be manufactured by BEL.

• A fibre optic gyro-based navigation system: BEL's advanced land navigation system.

• Laser Warning System: Designed by DRDO, BEL and Indian Industry, to be manufactured by BE

1 WORD............ EVERYTHING.

This is the picture of the first FULL ARJUN regiment that went into service this year..

The ARJUN beat 3 T90 on its own in field trials. in early 2009.

India have now ordered 248 mk1 AND THERE WILL BE FOLOW ON ORDERS FOR mk2 from 2016 ONWARDS......

" DON,T BELIEVE ALL THIS HYPE OF FAIL;ED INDIAN PROJECTS LCA is abou to enter service next year"

THERE WILL BE NO MORE T90s after the 1657 are delivered ONLY the much more powerful westerm style Arjun mk2 from 2017 onwards

. .
yes thats why indian army was not happy wuth arjun they said it lacks manuverability and its too heavy your own army no way it can beat T 72 even sir if it is that good why you get it in small numbers and get more foreign tanks can you answer it if you produce better tank than russia than why u buy more from russia and less only 450 from india becoz it is not that good

But then again, you are probably one of those people who thinks that 1 Pakistani tank is better than 100 Indian kafir tanks, so trying to make a logical argument against you was probably a waste of my time.

You made my day.

Hi, let me show you a few pics.

Type59_01.jpg

The first pic is of a Pakistani Al Zarrar tank. The second pic is of a Chinese-built Type 59.

If you know anything about your country's armored forces, you should know that the Al Zarrar is a modified variant of the Type 59. It was developed by the Pakistani army as a cheap replacement of the obsolete Type 59 tanks.

And, if you know anything about the Type 59, you would know that it is a reverse engineered T-54/55. And if you know anything about the T-72, you would know that it was developed by the Soviet Army as a "next-generation" replacement for the T-55.

Thus, your assertion that "even the Al-Zarrar is better than a T-72" is absolute bullshit, especially considering that most Indian T-72s have been heavily upgraded as part of the Ajeya program, and are very capable, modern machines.

But then again, you are probably one of those people who thinks that 1 Pakistani tank is better than 100 Indian kafir tanks, so trying to make a logical argument against you was probably a waste of my time.

Try its engine, new gun,new armour,NBC,transmission, imagery system, thermal system,FCS,auto loader... And 256 new modification tht make it a new tank..... on the other hand 80% of ur armour is jail bait or BLIND.

Unless u like ur indian brother believe T-72 is better then T-80UD.

Grow up FANBOY.... Grow up frm tht infidel or kafir rant of urs.

But then again you are surely one of the people who think 10 kadam aur ......

:pop:

.
Yup, that's why I said it was a modified Type 59.

Watever man...

Those same types of features that make an Al-Zarrar better than a regular Type 59 are what make a T-72 Ajeya better than a T-80UD....

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Like a 1200hp engine,firing missiles,NBC,laser desinators and warning recievers,Jammers,Gun,Thermal and infra imagery systems,FCS, etc:rofl:

Damn a 2nd gen tank is better then 3rd gen ones.
If thinking that makes you feel safer, you are free to do so.

And gives u the nightmares .... ur free to have em.
Yup, I'm a fanboy because I claimed a modified Type 59 is better than a modernized third generation tank

LOL ur a fanboy for thinking a modified second gen tank is better then a 3r gen heavier and more advanced tank...

I would go with the T-90S here. It has a better hit survivability since the frontal area has Kontakt-5 ERA on it. That being said more modern APFSDS rounds could probably penetrate it at this point. It usually comes down to the crews in the end.

Just to give an input on the efficacy of the Kontakt -5 ERA. "The effectiveness of Kontakt-5 ERA was confirmed by tests run by the German Bundeswehr and the US Army. The Germans tested the K-5, mounted on older T-72 tanks, and in the US, Jane's IDR's Pentagon correspondent Leland Ness confirmed that "when fitted to T-72 tanks, the 'heavy' ERA made them immune to the depleted uranium penetrators of M829 APFSDS, fired by the 120 mm guns of the US M1 Abrams tanks.........." link

Yes but those were original M829 APFSDS rounds. Since then they have produced improved versions such as the A2 and the more classified A3.

The M829A2 APFSDS is a third-generation anti-tank round based on the M829 penetrator and designed for the 120 mm M256 main gun in the M1A1 (or later) Abrams main battle tank. The M829A2 was rapidly developed to have the capability to destroy tanks equipped with Kontakt-5 reactive armor. The M829A2 has several improvements over the M829A1, including: a longer depleted uranium penetrating rod than previous designs, giving it improved performance over previous types of anti-tank rounds; better manufacturing processes for the penetrator; and a partially cut propelling charge to allow it to be more energetic while loading like a stick charge. The M829A2 was also the first APFSDS round to use carbon fiber sabot petals, reducing the weight of the overall round and allowing for the larger penetrator. Combined these features boost its muzzle velocity by 100 m/s to 1680 m/s, while operating at slightly lower pressure. The M829A2 entered service in the United States Army in 1993.

The M829A3 is a 120 mm APFSDS round developed from the current service M829A2 round. The M829A3 was slated to be supplied to units as of 2003[update]. It is a further improvement on the M829A2.

Very little is known about the round. It is heavier than the M829A2 and uses a more efficient propellant, RPD-380, giving it a boost in muzzle velocity. It is designed specifically to defeat modern types of ERA such as Kontakt-5. It has a combustible cartridge case with an overall length of less than 986 mm and weighs less than 56 pounds. The long rod penetrator is believed to be about 920 mm long and 20 mm in diameter. Muzzle velocity is estimated at 1555 m/s (5100 fps).
