Killing of his was condemned even from the highest office of the country. So you have no stand pointing fingers towards India on it. No society is perfect, specially sub-continent societies. It took more than 200 years for America to become one which it is now. Sames goes for UK and other colonial powers of yesteryears. Citizens are supposed to follow the law of the land and if some substance is illegal then they should not use it especially if it is religion related.

In general national televisions don't bother covering topics related to rural areas/South/North-East/non-Hindi states much. They did not bother covering Telangana suicides or discussed the Telangana committee reports in depth.

They normally cover every sound byte of every random saffron jingoist, but wouldn't waste a minute on what racist comments were flying around during Telangana movement. Even today very few out side the divided state even have a clue as to why a state got divided(except for a vague 'feeling of deprivation'). Only after the drama moved to parliament or during dramas at Sonia's house did they cover something on the event.

But people like Hardik Patel get day and night live coverage. They have completely ignored a conspiracy brewing up in AP to give reservation to an upper caste comprising 20% of population. Only when the politicians sneak the law through, these national papers will come and cry hoarse saying one more retrograde step took place.
