BJP national president J P Nadda targeted Tamil Nadu government and DMK and accused them of being a "sheltering ground for people not working in the interest of the nation".

“The DMK and the administration have become a sheltering ground for people who are not working in the interests of the nation. They are being sheltered by the administration,” JP Nadda alleged.

The BJP national president also asked party workers to be vigilante and give a befitting reply to those against the nation.

Targeting DMK, Nadda said, “The DMK has been anti-development by coming out with issues which are not in the interest of the nation”. He added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards bringing the people of Tamil Nadu in the mainstream and bringing them to contribute towards the nation.”

While the charges against the DMK were expected, the BJP national president attacking the AIADMK on a stage came in as a surprise.

DMK Chief MK Stalin was quick to hit back at the BJP saying the saffron party was working towards destroying Tamil culture and trying to divide the country on communal lines. “The BJP is working against India’s integrity and against the Indian constitution,” MK Stalin said in a statement.

Here we go, now turning Tamils as enemies of the Indian state. The ability of BJP to turn everything into a communal issue is really quite amazing.

BJP is rattled by Tamilnadu steadfast stand against Hindutva politics - Hindi imposition through NEP one language ) and NEET, Hindi imposition at Chennai airport and AYUSH Ministry’s meeting, banning Vinayaka Chaturthi celebration in public

MK Stalin lashes out JP Nadda, says BJP is enemy of Tamil culture and national unity

In a statement, the DMK President was quick to lash out at the national ruling party saying that the BJP was threatening democracy across the country and that they were targeting the DMK in Tamil Nadu by riding on the back of the BJP’s puppet AIADMK government, which is ruling the state. Stalin emphasized that DMK was a Democratic Party that believed and worked towards development and national interests.

“Our party cadre has fought against the Emergency and stood up for the rights of the people and for upholding democratic values in the country. But BJP has pushed India into an undeclared emergency, where state’s freedoms are being snatched away and diversity of the country is under threat” Stalin said.

The DMK President’s statement touched upon the house arrest of former leaders, intimidation against activists and the tendency of certain ruling oaten leaders to refer to political rivals as ‘anti-Indian’ and ‘anti-national’. It also mentioned the recent controversy where DMK MP was asked if she was Indian, for not speaking Hindi and the Yoga Webinar where non-Hindi speakers were asked to leave.

“The BJP which is trying to buy political leaders in Tamil Nadu also, is against the unity of the country and the democratic values of the country” the statement from Stalin said.

tamil are patriotic indians .

.
Wonderful to see Tamils alienating themselves in India. The central government is less likely to pander to them when it comes to relations with Sri Lanka. The BJP government is far more friendlier and pro-Sri Lanka than the Congress.

. .
It's funny how Tamils seem to think that "South Indians" is equivalent to "Tamils"

The ego and sense of self-importance 😂

understand why BJP is fuming

BJP attacks Tamil Nadu govt over disallowing Vinayaka Chaturthi celebration in public

The BJP on Thursday (August 20) attacked the Tamil Nadu government for disallowing celebration of Vinayaka Chaturthi in public places and asked when liquor shops can be opened why Ganesha idols should not be put up.

Backing Hindu Munnani, which, about four decades ago, set in motion the now prevalent practice of public celebration of Vinayaka Chaturthi, Saffron party`s Tamil Nadu president L Murugan asked: "In Tamil Nadu, the government which gave permission for opening TASMAC shops, did not allow putting up Vinayaka statues. Why?

On the stand of Munnani, State president Kadeswara C Subramaniam said, "we have a right to worship by following guidelines like social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus...We are holding talks with authorities."

A prominent Sangh Parivar outfit in Tamil Nadu, Munnani`s chief told to media: "We are seeking permission to put up Ganesha idols only in such public places that would be completely suitable to follow COVID norms and offer worship. We don`t insist on any location which authorities considered as not acceptable taking into account the pandemic."

Asked on his outfit reportedly saying that "government ban on public Ganesha worship will be defied," he denied he or anyone else making such a statement. "We did not say that we will violate or defy government orders. We are for following the norms to prevent the spread of the virus."

The state government, meanwhile, citing Centre`s guidelines against public worship in view of the pandemic said the Madras High Court too had directed compliance with its directives

THese so called ganesh chaturthi processions were started by the brahmin Tilak in 19th century - apparently as a protest against lower caste people "jalsa" to discuss education.
