Modern lifestyle? Have you ever visited FATA, the remote parts of NWFP? FATA is the least developed part of pashtun belt even to Afghanistan standard. But you have to remember we afghans were in this proxy for the last three decades so we have excuse waht is the execuse for pakistan for not bring schools or hospital to FATA etc..?

lolzz its only the dilect some people speak it as Pashtun some as Pakhtun and some as Pathan.
Rather even we have many dilects of Pashto language in Pakistan too.

The yousafzais are said to be having the most finest of dilect that is considered as pure Pashto dilect by many.

They are mostly residing in Mardan.
Whereas we have Pashto dilect in tribal areas that also varies from areas to area.

Then we have Pashto dilect that sounds like persian sounds, this is spoken in Balochistan as well as in Kurram areas too.

So pasho is a pashto no matter in which dilect it is spoken. Similarly Pashtun is a Pashtun whether you call it Pakhtun or Pashtun or Pathan.
