Taliban welcome resignation of top Pakistani general

They're bidding for legal power, mate. These 'statements' would increase and in a few years if we're in this trajectory they'd be a part of the government. Don't take them lightly.
what kind of attention seeking cartoons are these Talibs? seriously no one gives a damn about what you think

Yes; of course.
But they did get star-billing enough to get a thread started here on PDF; on what they said.

Nobody should; my friend, nobody should.
Their potential to cause mischief is still there and remains undiminished, unfortunately.

1- General Raheel is a key player in developing new counter-insurgency and counter-terror doctrines, whereby the infantry training manual was re-written under his watch
2- His stewardship resulted in fructification of Pakistan Army’s operational thought and doctrinal response to the Cold Start doctrine of Indian Army.

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ashfaq Nadeem was appointed Chief of General Staff on Friday, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed in a statement.
This was announced by the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, making it his first official decision.
Prior to his promotion, Nadeem served as DG Military Operations for two years. He has also served as Commander of the Infantry Division and was at the forefront of the successful Swat operation.
“He replaces Rashad Mahmood as chief of general staff,” reported Express News correspondent Ahmed Mansoor.
Mahmood took charge as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJSC) on Thursday. He has been termed the operational and intelligence eyes and ears of former COAS General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
