Taliban Spox: Turkey is our brother, we have many points in common based on faith

Now, Bosporus straits is covered by the Montraux treaty, which restricts Turkey from collecting tolls and passage of the third party warships into the Black Sea.

As for the Treaty of Lausanne, the most important part is the legitimacy of the republican regime, which abolished the Saltanat and Khilafat, which enabled them to introduce reforms that fundamentally changed the Turkish government, society, mindset etc.

The Turkish sides also lost vital islands in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Also they lost Mosul, Kirkuk, Aleppo, Batum etc.

As for the alleged “secret points”, it’s all speculative…

The Treaty of Loussane basically imprisoned Turkey within 800K km2! Now, they’re trying to break that shackle….

still the question is what is going to happen after 2023 ?

Turkey signed that treaty for peace with the invading western powers, since Turkey agreed to give up alot of their territory and rights, only then the treaty was signed. They made Turkey from super power to a weak state. If Turkey wants to get all their territory back then they need to become very powerful and take them back with force, a treaty does not stop you if your powerful :)

Group desires to work with other countries to restore peace, security in Afghanistan, says Zabihullah Mujahid.

A Taliban spokesman said Wednesday that the group has asked Muslim countries for support for a political solution that will end the war in Afghanistan and that it wants to maintain good relations with Turkey.

Zabihullah Mujahid argued that the solution to the current problem in Afghanistan is an "inclusive" Islamic government and said the group wants to work with other countries to restore peace and security and start a rebuilding process.

"We want good relations with Turkey, Turkey is our brother, we have many points in common based on faith. We want Turkey to leave the past and return to the present and the future. After that, we can ask for dialogue," Mujahid told TRT Arabi, the Arabic broadcasting service of Turkey's public broadcaster, TRT, during an interview that touched on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, the operation of Kabul Airport and peace negotiations between Afghan parties in Doha.

On an Afghan peace conference that is expected to be held in Istanbul, he said the Taliban evaluated every opportunity to bring peace to Afghanistan and the region.

The much-anticipated peace conference was scheduled for the end of April but was postponed.

He noted that ensuring the security of the Kabul airport, diplomatic missions and embassies is the responsibility of Afghans and the Taliban will consider any other move as an intervention in the country's internal affairs.

Mujahid added that the Taliban welcomed the resumption of dialogue between Kabul and the group in Qatar and they hope that negotiations will yield good results.

The latest round of intra-Afghan negotiations failed to deliver a breakthrough, with the Afghan government and the Taliban on Sunday vowing via a joint statement to continue and expedite high-level peace talks in Doha, Qatar.

The situation in Afghanistan has gained importance in recent weeks after US President Joe Biden announced that all American forces will withdraw from the war-torn country by Sept. 11, with NATO allies to follow suit.

Intense fighting between Afghan forces and the Taliban continues amid the withdrawal of foreign troops.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that Turkey is considering operating the major Kabul airport and Ankara is ready to discuss the peace process with the Taliban.

Talks between the US and Turkey about security at the airport following the US pullout remain ongoing. Erdogan and US President Joe Biden discussed the issue at a recent NATO leaders' summit in Brussels.

Ankara has been running the military and logistic operations at the Kabul airport for six years as part of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission.

Turkey, whose forces in Afghanistan have always been noncombatants, has reportedly offered to guard the airport amid questions about how security will be assured along major transport routes and at the airport, which is the main gateway to the capital.

Having good relations between Mujahidin of Afghanistan and Turkey, is not the problem. The problem arises where Turkey wants to have military presence in Afghanistan. For what purpose? Any angle one looks at this, Turkey becomes an occupying foreign military in Afghanistan. Besides, Turkey does not have a credible track record with its military occupying other countries. One only has to look at Iraq, Libya and Syria to know that wherever Turkey has sent its military, destruction and chaos followed.

Mujahidin of Afghanistan should not be so naïve to think that Turkey's intent of keeping military presence in Kabul, under the guise of protecting the Airport, is anything but that. Turkey is a member state of NATO and by that classification, Turkey's motives in Afghanistan are questionable, more so sinister.

I said a few years back that the Turkish genie was coming out of the box and the whole region was going to change. It is pretty obvious. Once the shackles are broken the Turks are going to seek to redress all that was wronged by Britain and the Europeans. Turkey most likely first tear up the Montreux convention and start charging ships through the Bosporus sea. Next all the land it was forced to accede will be reclaimed from Palestine (including Jordan), Syria and parts of KSA, Greece and central Asia. Western world will again muster a force to confront but is too far stretched because of Russia, China and Iran.

Taliban are just the face we all know who is making them say these things.

This is a very unfortunate discourse that declares its ignorance about the Turkey-USA relations.
