Taliban says it can 'reconcile' with India

What surprising is that the spokesman is at pains to try to justify attacks on Indians even though its not an "occupying" force just because it is helping the current Afghan govt.. Because this same logic is used by the TTP to attack Pakistani security forces and govt. officials which in fact is doing a lot more than the Indians in helping NATO and ISAF forces stay in Afghanistan. Does this mean that they are ready to legitimize attacks on Pakistanis supporting the "occupation" as well?

And how does it justify killing Indian doctors that were providing free medical treatment to Afghan children?

Alternatively, it could be that these attacks were organised by other groups based in Pakistan as per the Karzai's administration assertions and the Afghan Taliban had to take ownership of the attacks event though they were not willing to. Hence the twisted logic if you could even call it logic...:)

Taliban says it can 'reconcile' with India

Deleted quote for saving space
He said it was carried out by "Taliban fighters after we got intelligence information that RAW agents were holding a meeting there."

Taliban says it can 'reconcile' with India - India - The Times of India

Why does Taliban care about RAW being holding a meeting or not. It is PA and ISI that care if that is the case. Were they fulfilling the supari (contract). I doubt they did this as proxy for ISI.

Not trying to troll, but I have seen Indian News, such as Zee TV, saying that Musharraf has been murdered back in 2003. It's hard to trust mainstream news sources. Just saying.

.
whats coming out of this whole news is that even Taliban affirms that India's mission in AF is to help Afghanistan People to reconstruct Af again. I wont mind this NEWS even coming out from Talibani sources. How india will react and give any kind of recognition to Taliban is like predicting future. Even if someone like to predict then one must retrospect India's previous stand with Taliban. So lets not drag India in it.

Nah! India would never talk with the Taliban. If India had to talk to Taliban, India would have done that before 9/11 and maintained diplomatic ties.

Times change, India is out of Options & it seems Taliban are desperate for some support so now they are sending signals towards India

The main problem is till now every body is in dielima to whome they should support. every thing is changing very fast and no body knows what will be the future.
So they are not sure that what should be their stretegy in afganistaan.
so everybody is trying to gain maximum cards so that they can remain in game(instead of just to depend on their traditional trump cards now they are also cocentrating on other various small cards too)

USA dilema:

whether she should talk with talibaan or not ??
she will ever win war in afganistaan or not??
which country support she need most india/pakistaan??

1) on one hand they are saying they will talk where as it seems they are not interested in talking
2) May be :D
3) You can have a solution in Afgh without India but not without Pak

Pakistaan dilema:

whether she should still give support to talibaan or not??
is it safe to invest everything on one party(taliban) to handle indian in afganistaan?
or she should talk with second party too??

Taliban Doomed, Quetta Shura Annihilated, Do i need to say more

India dilema:

if USA will leave afganistaan and talibaan capture afganistaan then what will happen??

is it safe to invest everything on one party(karzayi goverment ) to handle pakistaan in afganistaan?

or she should talk with second party too??:undecided:

Billions of dollars will be wasted & Pak will make sure that there ain't any Indian Prob on our Western Border :D
Plus India is loosing in this game for now :agree:

India shifts Afghan policy, ready to talk to Taliban

New Delhi. In the wake of a possible American pullout from Kabul next year, New Delhi has sharply re-oriented its strategy towards Afghanistan by reaching out to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-e-Islami party and keeping its door open in case of a reconciliation effort by the Taliban.

While the new Afghan policy is being crafted at the highest levels with National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon playing a lead role, New Delhi is learnt to have made contact with Hizb-e-Islami party even though it knows that Hekmatyar is firmly under Pakistani control. New Delhi is also now amenable to talking to Taliban in case the latter are to open an engagement. This change in Indian posture comes as Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also talked about reconciling with India.

Top government sources told The Indian Express that New Delhi wants to reach out to the second generation Pashtun leaders like Nangarhar Governor Gul Agha Sherzai, and is with the former Northern Alliance leaders like Marshal Fahim, Karim Khallili and Mohammed Mohaqiq in backing President Hamid Karzai’s government.

This fine-tuning of India’s position on Afghanistan comes after exchange of views between top diplomats. After the February attack on Indians in Kabul, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Pakistan-Afghanistan envoy Satinder Lambah and former West Asia envoy Chinmay Gharekhan wanted India to adopt a neutral position in Afghanistan. This essentially meant keeping out of Aghanistan politics but carrying on the development works in the war-torn republic.

This month, this view was nuanced further by the UPA government, with New Delhi now all for an independent or neutral Afghanistan that does not require the crutches of neighbouring Pakistan. According to a paper prepared by the Ministry of External Affairs on the subject, India should back an Afghanistan that keeps out terrorism emanating from Pakistan and does not allow the state to slip back into the violence spiral of 1990s. The sub-text of the paper is that Afghanistan will come under the total influence of Pakistan if New Delhi were to let matters go out of hand.

While a section in South Block wants India to go back to supporting the former Northern Alliance faction, the fact is that all the top six alliance leaders are firmly backing Karzai, including Marshal Fahim, heir of legendary Ahmed Shah Masood, and Uzbek leader Mohammed Dostum. New Delhi is conscious of the fact that its former allies like Iran of the Northern Alliance days are still confused on whether they want the Americans out or the Taliban.

It is in this context that New Delhi wants to reach out to Pashtuns in the south and on the Durand Line while retaining ties with its Northern Alliance friends and President Karzai. So rather than the expected downscaling of Indian engagement in Afghanistan, New Delhi is all for enlarging it, lest it wants to let the republic be dominated by extremist forces of the past.

Pakistan has always alleged some back door khichri being cooked between the two entities. It is the simple rule "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". It is fully expected that India would too want to reconcile with them. Of course India will maintain appearances till the very end. The friendship with the Taliban allows them a lot of deniability. They don't need to be the ones bombing Pakistan they have an endless supply of idiots to do that for them in the Taliban. The Taliban are well organized and can plan and execute attacks on their own as long as they are only given the money they need which India has.

The good taliban bad taliban distinction that pakistan gave for the terrorists in afghan is not going to hold ground for long. America and pakistan have a history of conviently teaming up with any one anybody and going to any extent just for materialistic gains, compramising a system based on principles. I hope the good ones this time don't turn into a monster like the earlier good ONES ;)

And i would say india shouldnt talk to any good taliban or bad taliban... if afghans want indians then lets stay else we come back.

And lets see who win's and who loses in the long run..!!!

.
LOL. Even the Ku Klux Klan can reconcile with India - point is we can never reconcile with such terrorists and hate mongers
