I mean, it's not like Americans have been the most honest or truthful of them all. Not by a long margin. No no.

I can state with 100% certainty that the U.S. KIA and casualty lists are accurate. I've heard people claim "10,000+ U.S. dead" and that the true number is being hidden. This is impossible... Soldier deaths are public knowledge and cannot be hidden.

As for the rest, yeah it's a propaganda war. But if you had a year and ran through all the Taliban propaganda since 2001, we would have lost thousands of tanks, helicopters, and tens of thousands of soldiers. And that is simply false.

As for the helicopter, who knows? They've shot them down before. They've also claimed mechanical problems as "kills."

I couldn't find the video, but there was one purported to be a missile or RPG destroying an Apache gunship. It was one of the most laughably fake hack jobs ever passed off as reality. They did better fake film propaganda in WW1.

Bro, every side is involved in propaganda to a certain degree.

However, fake reports should be discouraged.

In addition, I have noticed one thing that weaker side typically is much more in to propaganda. This has been proven in case of Saddam, Taliban, and Qaddafi.

Still I regard Taliban as a very capable fighting force. The key to its survival is its ideological linkage within local people and it can easily blend in with them.
