Taliban can't move finger without Pakistan

I said in one of my previous post on this thread that latest polls show Taliban are not popular in Afghanistan they will never be in control like before 9/11.

Popularity never won the Taliban any control. Simply because they never were popular. Afghanis who hated them worked for them, still do and most probably will in the future as well. Or did I miss the elections that brought them into power? What I see is Nato having its teeth knocked out in Afghanistan by this unpopular faction. After the US and its allies are gone who will fill the power viod? Who will stand up against the Taliban? Who will subdue them? The people? I really doubt that. The fact of the matter is that, be it Taliban, Karzai or any other Jack in power in Afghanistan, the importance of Pakistan to Afghanistan comes from geography not politics.

ps: Which poll was it? Who conducted it? How was it conducted? And where was it conducted?

UN is unable to solve big issues like Kashmir & Palestine & you think they will solve this?

Well Burma is becoming more pro-China & this thing will help Pakistan.

We backed the Northen Alliance alongside Iran before 9/11 the links are still in place. Better take your case to them instead of bitching like Rehman Malik who 2 years ago said he has evidence India is behind the unrest and he will give the world proof when the time is ready but im still waiting

ISLAMABAD: A significant decline has been witnessed in the popularity of Taliban both in Pakistan and Afghanistan due to the killings of innocent people in the growing number of terrorist activities, according to Gallop survey.

It says Taliban enjoyed support of 15 per cent Pakistanis in June 2009 which shrank to just 4 per cent in November – December.

According to the survey, 8 out of 10 people in Afghanistan hate the presence of Taliban in their country.

But Pakistan is still advocating for a truce with Taliban ? Why ? 80% Afghans hate them yet Pakistan think they know better.

I'll leave it to you to figure out how efficient the survey could have been. Forget being credible or not.

We are advocating peaceful negotiations with India as well. The US itself is practicing truce negotiations with the Taliban. Now I believe you to be an able enough person to use some good old logic and come to the conclusion that after tens of thousands of dead, trillions of dollars wasted and still not a sliver of success in sight a truce would indeed be the better option. Especially if you ask a Pakistani such as me, who has had two major bomb explosions less than a kilometer away from his house, who has lost a family member in another attack, whose country has forgotten what it was like before the TTP and who has lost 40,000 civilians in the war. Yeah id definitely want things to settle down in Afghanistan and TTP kicked the hell out of existence. As for the Afghanis why dont they stand up and help themselves out of this pickle for a change?

he is right,pakistanis have support for pashtuns majority in afghanistan and their groups too.

Ye Ye..........and India is doing nothing and sitting idle..............India is giving money and Weapons to extermists even providing them training and they have training camps in Afghanistan....where Indian RAW Agents, CIA and Mosad are giving them trainings to do voilations and suicide attacks in Pakistan specially in Balochistan Province.
