Taliban are my children, says Sami ul Haq

LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-S (JUI-S) Chief Maulana Sami ul Haq on Sunday proclaimed Taliban as his offspring and said they were fighting a war for freedom of their country, ARY News reported.

Addressing Ulema and Madaris Protection Convention in Lahore, he said, “Taliban are my children. We are proud of Taliban. They are fighting for freedom of their country.”

He said they first disintegrated Soviet Union and then gave the United States a tough time.

The JUI chief and Difa-e-Pakistan Council leader also said when people rejected Taliban, he owned them.

This surprising statement has come at a time when the Supreme Court (SC) has issued charge sheet against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan saying that his ministry was working without a clear leadership and vision.

The commission report on August 8 carnage in Quetta incident has questioned Nisar’s meeting with leader of a banned outfit.
While, Nisar in a press conference has said that the inquiry report on the incident was one-sided and without the point of view of the interior ministry

An interior ministry statement today said that the meeting with Difa-e-Pakistan Council members was not held on Nisar’s wish, but was desired by religious leaders.

i agree the afghan taliban were great,especially in not causing trouble for pakistan from afghanistan
lets hope the taliban take over again soon so we can finally not worry about india brewing trouble for us over there
