If that's the case then don't expect recognition of the Afghan government until this happens.

They fought for 20 years and won and took power, i doubt if they give a damn abt recognition of so called powers. They will do things their own way.

Recognition is very important for the new Taliban govt. But they are not dependent on that. Soon after Kabul fell on 15 August, some people in the West already were saying that Taliban could financially manage because of control over border crossings, which generate substantial revenue. Plus, unlike the previous govt, Taliban are going to run a mostly non-corrupt govt.

Speaking of the new govt, Saleem Safi's latest video saying that Taliban had to try to balance the need to include more ethnicities with the strong pressure from their cadres not to give away too much to the likes of Karzai or Abdullah. So the end result is a govt run by proven loyalists who fought with them for decades but also deputy ministers' positions have more representations from other ethnicities.

Safi is also saying that the new govt has almost no anti-Pakistan figures; yes, there are the Taliban who don't like Pakistan! Maybe to them Pakistan can't be trusted because of what happened after 9/11? Maybe they see Pakistan as being too 'liberal'? Or maybe they too have been watching Indian channels too much?

If its an interim government then they can go ahead and include all the Pashtuns if they want. A general government can't be like this. Then they can expect another major uprising against them by Tajiks Uzbeks Hazaras etc.

Those saying Pashtuns are majority, they're correct. 40% percent vs the rest but it doesn't mean you make a full fledged government with 30 Pashtuns out of 33 lol. But since this is interim, it is meant to be filled with loyalists.

A dumb theory believe in is that except Pashtun, every Afghan regardless of their ethnicity is Anti Pakistan which is incorrect. Many Pashtuns are Anti Pak as well, including many Taliban leaders who believe in Salafism instead of Hanfism.

Anyways, I don't see anything better in Afghanistan for next 1000 years. This country is in wrath by Allah for idk what reason from ancient history.

He is already dead according to republic TV . According to Arnab Gobarswami two days ago he was killed by panjshir rebels to avenge fahim dashti . So I guess they appointment the ghost of him as army chief

Don’t know why ppl are surprised about this. Taliban are inclusive but only when it comes to fellow members. After all it was only Taliban that won the war not any other group. There were 2 Tajiks & a hazara (and/or Uzbek) in the top leadership who now have powerful positions. If there had been more they would have had more positions. I expect (hope) that it will get better overtime as more Tajiks/hazara/Uzbek get comfortable with the new gov. They might even give more positions to them in the final cabinet but likely not the key or most powerful ones.

I'm going to venture out and guess this set up is to get things of the ground. They could down the road be holding local elections and become a parliamentary system whereas different regions can be represented? They'll have to somehow work things through.

But let's not forget they have the Jirga System whereas they all are present as well that acts as a parliamentary system of sorts.

i was referring to secularists who support corrupt parties (& of course the parties themselves who are mostly secular as well) not every poor sod that’s taken bribe. You solve the elite & you’ll fix the society.

In any case Pakistani society does need to be more religious (it‘s the only thing that holds the state together after all) but ppl who have proper knowledge need to be brought in to decide the material.

It's in there benefit to do so. An inclusive government helps minorities by giving them representation in government.
It helps the majority too because if the minorities are included there is less chance of insurrection as long as the minority can blame their representative.
