Well, you have a point here & well recieved too.

However what I find diff to accept ( in the absence of cogent inputs) is that an army of the caliber of the PA is unable to get things ' under control' more so given that almost all weapon systems have / are being employed. I have seen clips of field artillery, attack helicopters.. the whole lot with the exception of the Navy & Nuc weapons being employed.

Are the Talibs so well equipped / entrenched ?

you may be right but the big issue is that the TTP is not surrendering their arms and this can be a big problem in the coming days.! the army is still in swat and as we speak being re-inforced with additional troops as the threat on the eastern border has subsided.

Implementation of the Sharia bill would be a catastrophic mistake.

They will carry on, and then demand the same for other areas of nwfp, baluchistan, punjab, etc. These militants will not remain quiet until they have established their writ over the whole of Pakistan. They are in this for the long run.

These peace deals tend to work in their favour.

We can make deals with those taliban who are ideologically opposed to overthrowing the govt.

We should also engage other groups like hizb and lashkar, which are at ideological odds with the TTP. Not all islamists, or fundamentalists are the same. We must learn to differentiate among them, and isolate the hard core miscreants.

You are right this will also be implemented other part of Pakistan ,there is no harm in implementation but GOP should accept majority desire.

Shariah courts are already working from Zia era and almost network for implementation is already laid .

We should not surpise because more then 30 lakh attanding tableege ijtama every year,GOP know it and they are peace fully working .

They will not believe in implementing shariah forcefully but if local population majrity wanted shariah no one should try to oppose it.

shariah will only be implemented once peace is restored and gov writ established. that is y TNSM is holding talks with TTP swat to lay down their arms. the deal will not go through if TTP swat chapter doesnt lay down their arms. also sufi muhammad has got following in swat and it will be tough for fazlullah to fight against him + the army at the same time.
anyways everyone is playin safe and we cant say wat will happen after the 10 days ceasefire is over.

The intel agencies upon whom Govts spend so much which is un audited are expected to perform. Ever wondered how Israelis suceed to put missiles thru windows of rooms where they suspect hammas etc to be meeting ?

dont quote israel's example who killed more than 1300 civillians while killin only few hamas ppl. they bombed schools and hospitals and u r quotin their achievements to me
its not easy to gather intel if ppl living there are supporting the cause for which talibans are fighting. how are u gonna find out if everyone says we want shariah
