Taliban Advance in Helmand

Taliban fighters seized a district headquarters in Afghanistan's Helmand province on Monday despite repeated U.S. air strikes to repel them, adding to the insurgents' recent advances in a heavily fought over region of opium farms and trade routes.

Elsewhere in Helmand, a man in Afghan uniform opened fire in the former British base of Camp Bastion, killing two U.S. service personnel, before being shot and wounded. Another man in Afghan uniform was wounded in the return fire.
Helmand's Musa Qala district fell after the Taliban overran police and army posts.
That means the Taliban currently control three districts in northern Helmand and have partial control of several others, including Kajaki, where they frequently disrupt supplies from a large U.S.-built hydroelectric dam powering the province.
Past:
In the years following the 2001 U.S. invasion that toppled the Taliban government, more than 400 British soldiers died in Helmand, several while defending Musa Qala. More than 350 U.S. Marines also lost their lives in the province.
Looks like shit is going real.
Pakistan should Help ANA to fight them.Kabul loss means mess for us.

ANA is far worse trained and equipped than Iraqi Army. We all saw what happened to Iraqi Army.

Half of Iraq is taken over by ISIS, which province of Afghanistan is taken over by the Taliban ? With all the International forces gone the ANSF is killing the Talis by the droves, so if u want to compare ANSF with Iraqi army, have some decency and be objective a bit. You dont need equipment to be a fighter, with all the terriost forces IMU, Talis, ISIS, Jundullah, Haqqanis, they have not been able to wrestle a district for more than week.

If these terriost groups take over Afghanistan, guess where will be their next stop, ?? Pakistan!! you will be the next to get slaugthered. So be have some decency and dont be an apologiest for them.

2. Also note: Helmad borders Pakistan
3. Also the silence in the Western press implies: there is little interest in Afghan issues
4. What people forget is that insurgent groups do not need to hold territory to be successful -- all they have to do is disrupt the writ of the state.
5. There is a common theme here -- the cries of the local government seem to go unanswered by Kabul -- why?

The only way out is to make sure foreign boots stay in Afghanistan, otherwise, there would be internecine strife, Ghani already buckled under pressure from jingoistic elements within his unwieldy coalition, Pak needs to support ISAF and ANA in this !!!

This is what current afghan GOVT doesn't accept and instead blames it on Pakistan. Taliban do have support in common people and they consist of ethnic group which is in majority. Its foolish of Afghan GOVT to think they won't share power. Let's see what happens in coming days.
