It is reality hitting them hard- Remember It was the US who 1st proposed an economic corridor connecting Gwadar to Central Asia- They were willing to recognize Taliban Govt- for that- Salivating at the prospects of hitting Russia again in the central asia and all the oil and Gas coming to Gwadar- and perhaps using Taliban to further create Taliban ver 2 in Central Asia- and then 3500 American are dead within hours- Its like taking all the trouble to make the cake for their partners and themselves and then the partner takes the cake and slams right onto USA's face-

You were right to the point you mentioned 9/11. Think over of what you just wrote. Taliban will be going along with the plans of UNICOL , linking central Asia with gawadar via Afghanistan, and in the process will make a lot of dosh for themselves, will suddenly have a seizure, after going through all the planing, even visiting America for this purpose, will slam some jets in twin towers! How convenient. Thing is, Taliban never claimed and neither anyone blamed them for the act. Americans wanted to be physically present at the vintage point which is Afghanistan and brought along its sidekicks, 9/11 giving them perfect smoke screen. That worked till a point , but that cake you mentioned is now eaten by Chinese and Russians are also eager to have their piece as well. Americans think of themselves as smart arses until they meet Pakistani establishment.
