Black is not considered a noble color. In China, black bean is largely the same as soybean but it is mostly used as an animal feed and has only limited use in cuisine. It is ranked lower than white. But white isn't the color with the highest regard, either. Other colors, like yellow, red, green, are all more welcome than white.
