that was under Mao and Deng, we vietnamese respect these guys that fought in war and know hardship. the current princelings in power know to send their kids to foreign school , buy overseas mansions and get mistresses. fighting is not in these guys blood.

But hey , we can blame them that much, as its mainly due to the 1 child policy, if me myself i had just 1 son/child(i have one now, another on its way.lol ) then i will never allow them to go die in a war, since it means my whole generation will be gone.

much different with the US, a lot of US family especially in Great plain area and Middle Southern states still hold their old values to retain a big family to run their farms and yards, and recent influx of immigrant especially Hispanic, African, East and South East Asian, Indian, and Eastern Europe will give them more and more youngster stock.

I think with today conditions, American will be more willing to sending their troops to any war than the Chinese
