Taiwan sets up airborne unit for Spratlys

Sound like Vietnam is trying to create an empire in indo-China. This will not happen as Vietnam has withdrawn from Cambodia and Laos. As for closing down malacca strait, it will certainly invite US intervention. And Vietcong navy is certainly no match for a single carrier task force.
.
Hehe, our troop never withdraw from laos-Camb, just change the name from 'VN army' to 'VN civilian', that's all:coffee:
2. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam government to withdraw the 60,000 Vietnamese soldiers from Laos. The Vietnamese government's plan to control its neighbouring countries is seen as a violation of Laos' national sovereignty and integrity as a nation.
This plan is believed to be in action as it is currently being carried out by the existing "puppet" Lao party leaders to the Hanoi government as noted in the paper presented at the National Conference in 2007 by Michael Mike, "Vietnam's Tay Tien expansion into Laos and Cambodia" , which outlined the neo-colonizing of Laos.

3/ Abolish the unfair of 25 year Treaty between Vietnam & Laos ( July 18, 1977 )
Article Five: The Two Sides Endeavor to Strengthen Militants, Solidarity Relations & Cooperation
Military, the 25 year Vietnamese - Laotian Treaty of July 18, 1977 allowed more then 500,000 Vietnamese civilians and family of the army to station in Laos. There were more than 100,000 Vietnam troops in December 1988.
In December 1988, the Communist Lao Government announced that all the Vietnam troops had withdrawn from Laos but in fact, there are still more than 60,000 Vietnamese troops in December 1990.

On 11 November 1995 Vietnam signed a new Treaty with Laos to further enhance this arrangement, under the name " Labour Exchange Agreement "
Under the term of Labour Exchange Agreement , Vietnam sent their soldiers to Laos in the disguise of ordinary labourers; these labourers had trucks of their own, in which they kept a wide variety of special weaponry for military action for any eventuality.

be straight and pride my friend, india is always beside to help you!

Taiwan+China = loud speaker = paper tiger

No, bro.
Traditionally, Vietnam was never a side go to war first. We were only fighting when have to take up arms to defend our country.

Khmer Rouge attacked and harassed along the border VN-Cam since 1975 to 1978, and in 1978, they killed thousands of Vietnamese. But during that time our government always tried to negotiate peacefully with the Khmer Rouge, but they refused all opportunities for peace. Then, in 12/1978 we only needed 20 days to free Phnom Penh and about more a month to kick out all the Khmer Rouge ran to Thailand.

Vietnamese people have undergone very much suffering during the wars. Now we need peace and hope peace more than anyone else.

You cannot find any statement by VN government or VN People Army said that we would use force to resolve the disputes with Taiwan in SCS, or any other country. They always support a peaceful solution.

VN wants to be a friend of all countries, including powers as the US, India, Russia, Japan, EU... and particularly India and Russia, the traditional friendly friends. But we don't expect anyone to sacrifice their lives for us.
VN see India as a great friend, but we don't want India to go to fight China for us.

Although VN has no formal political relations with Taiwan due to pressure from China, the dynamic cooperation in the economic between VN-Taiwan will do not allow us to go to war. The two countries should solve disputes through peaceful negotiations...

"Traditionally, Vietnam was never a side go to war first. We were only fighting when have to take up arms to defend our country."

In accordance with the Paris Peace Accords signed with North Vietnam on 27 January 1973, U.S. military forces withdrew from South Vietnam. North Vietnam was allowed to continue supplying communist troops in the South, but only to the extent of replacing materials that were consumed.

The communist leaders had expected that the ceasefire terms would favor their side. But as Saigon began to roll back the Vietcong, they found it necessary to adopt a new strategy, hammered out at a series of meetings in Hanoi in March 1973, according to the memoirs of Trần Văn Trà. As the Vietcong's top commander, Trà participated in several of these meetings. A plan to improve logistics was prepared so that the North Vietnamese Army would be able to launch a massive invasion of the South

In 1975, the communists of North Vietnam launched an offensive in the South, which became known as the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. The Army of the Republic of Vietnam unsuccessfully attempted a defense and a counterattack. North Vietnam controlled South Vietnam under military occupation.

After signing a peace treaty and the Americans left South Vietnam, the North invaded the South :)

Yes, it's correct: "Traditionally, Vietnam was never a side go to war first. We were only fighting when have to take up arms to defend our country."

Vietnamese have been fighting until aggressors run away. Every things is our fair at the end. Finish with puppet regime.

Don't try to tell another version :D, truth is North Vietnam became the aggressor and attacked South Vietnam even though they signed a peace treaty.

saber rattling is not going to work in SCS,neither China, nor Vietnam or other party can capture those islands without enough bloodshed.but China is in more danger here,as their claim on SCS is drawing more attention and destroying their image irreversibly.only way is multilateral discussion to solve th issue, not bilateral or trilateral.

Geneva Agreements of 1954 (also, "Geneva Accords") arranged a settlement which brought the end to the First Indochina war (or first Vietnam war). Vietnam was to be temporarily divided along the 17th Parallel until elections could be held to unite the country. Following to terms and conditions of said agreement general election shall be held in two year, But Ngo Dinh Diem dictator refused to do it.

National Liberation Front (NLF), formally National Front for the Liberation of the South, Vietnamese Mat-Tran Dan-Toc Giai-Phong Mien-Nam, Vietnamese political organization formed on Dec. 20, 1960, to effect the overthrow of the South Vietnamese dictatorship of Ngo Dinh Diem's family members including their followers and the reunification of North and South Vietnam.

It's true version.

Friend, you have confused the term "a side go to war first" and "go to end the war"
I only said that we never go to war first, but I did not say that we are not a side going to end the war.
The beginning of Vietnam War from long time ago. If traced back to history, we can say that the Vietnam War began in 1858, when French had opened fire the first cannon to attack Da Nang City...

After 160 years you still remains the poorest country in the world.

Vietnam War began in 1858, until 1975 we finished it. But soon after, we had to fought against the genocidal Khmer Rouge, same time we fought against China invasion. We just enjoyed peace since 1989, after we won China invasion and its ally, Khmer Rouge.
Thus, VN only have peace from 1989 to now, only 23 years.

We no longer the poorest countries, VN has become a country with low average income level.

If VN were a city in China, it's GDP can hardly get into top 10.
If VN were a province in China, it's GDP will be between Yunnan and Xinjiang, ranks at 24th or 25th.
