in this case, small is beautiful.

The US doesn't produce any conventional sub, while Taiwan has no capability to maintain or to operate a nuclear sub.
PS, the US won't sell any nuclear sub.
Taiwan is very close to Japan. Japan has world class AIP subs.
And they proposed to use the tactic 12 slbm - 12 subs aim to most important cities of the enemy as defensive act.
6 is quite enough for Taiwan.
It will get sunk without even seeing an enemy ship by aircraft, since it lacks anti-air capabilities. Also doesn't have CIWS.
Japan is not that tough.
Taiwan may building themselves some. I guess.
This only shows that Taiwan's military industrial complex is actually a toddler compared to China's.
With their own capability without any imported technology, they can only build a 500 tons corvette at max.
They don't have this capability.
Taiwan managed to induct its own indigenous FCK-1 fighter ages ago. What equivalent fighter did the PRC manage to produce during that time period?
Taiwan has managed to produce what Japan and South Korea could only dream of. The South Korean's new FA-50 is still no match for the old FCK-1.
With limited resources and a tiny manpower, you can only go so far. If the KMT were to be in charged of a bigger land with more resources and manpower, I have no doubt that its military industry would be superior to the current industrial level produced by the CPC.
Heck, I even think they can surpass the US in a lot of areas. Just look at their consumer electronics industry, some sector is better than the US counterpart.
FCK-1 is American technology labelled as 'Made in Taiwan'.
No, only some assistance from Western contractors. Not much difference from the J-10 and J-11 and their foreign "assistance."
The name "FCK-1" was a subliminal message to the US for turning its back on Taiwan.
China and Taiwan are not in the same league,
This thread is telling you about the Taiwan asymetric tactic. Few HF II/III missiles could defeat the aircraft carrier.
it's simply that they may think it doesn't need those capacities.
Do you see any mobile surface to surface missile launcher has anti air capability?
lol, China can use its domestic engine and avionics for its J-10B and J-11B, but can Taiwan do the same for their FCK-1?
Even give Taiwan another 50 years, they still cannot build a F110 equivalent turbofan engine.
