If you focus in on Russian media they are pretty much going with the Indian story that they shot down an F16. This is because it's in their interest to show that their weapons systems are effective against the US.

On a side note any nation wishing to sell the Indians their war planes such as the French seriously need to consider the consequences...as it will be a PR disaster should Pakistan for example demonstrate superiority of a JF17 over a Dassault Rafale.

OK, so what? The serial number on the crap Indians were showing is for Taiwani airforce as vendors online database shows. Taiwanis are saying it is not their missile either. Pakistan is no where in that matter because vendors database shows we haven't received that missile from the vendor. Hard to trust this source, they say the missile is not compatible with any of their systems which can't possibly be true as Taiwan has tons of F16s and contracts showing they bought the aim-120c-5.
