It will be an accumulation for decade ahead program

.
let me tell you what does $100B means to Taiwan.

Its total tax revenue a year is NTD 1,459.3 billion, converted to USD, it is $48.5B; i.e. the claimed $100B investment amount is >2x of its total tax revenue.

I find some cheap words are always an effective tool to make the Viet guy happy.

Maybe what he means is cumulative investment. Still, it is huge. Mainland's cumulative investment in the US is still under 100 billion USD. And US cumulative investment in Mainland (3 decades) is about 250 billion USD.

I am not sure our friend realizes how immense the amount is.

But, @EastWind , my friend, if it is true, no problem, as long as investments make sense. Usually, Taiwan businemen are known for being quite ruthless, and even cruel. It takes strong public oversight to keep them in check.

Nonetheless, we belong to, more or less, a similar culture area, so, it should be fine.

Taiwan dont have Sovereign Wealth Fund, unlike UAE, Russia or Saudi who had hundreds billions US dollar oil rich for investment purpose or PRC from their export earning surpluses.

Great news for Vietnam, their close proximity to Chinese market will bring a lot of manufacturing job to their country

If Vietnam play its card right , I have no doubt they will become developed country less then 30 years
Their education system heavily focus on science and tech.

Once again , great news for Vietnam

It’s cumulative. That is a huge sum for sure, if someone tells the sum 5 years ago, people would think it is a joke. Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics currently constructs $10.6 billion steel complex in Ha Tinh province that includes a power plant and a deep sea port. The company wants to double the bet in the next phase. No risk no fun.

Ah we know the Taiwanese as we know the mainlanders. Neither can surprise us. Ha ha.

This news show Taiwanese business man confidence over Vietnam, and don’t screw it up by burning their factory down.. :D
