i used the term jamat in the sense of jamiat. many groups use teh word jamat. If you are affiliated with jamaate islami, you are also called jamaatiya. Even ahmadis call themselves "we are from the jamaat". It is a term used by many.
People from TAblighi jamaat, do go on jamaats, but they don't usually call themsleves jamatis. Mostly people know them as tablighi. Their official name is Anjuman Islahi Muslimeen.
I've been on many a jamat myself, and spent many weeks, and days with the tablighi jamat before I got disillusioned with it.
I am in sync with you. For those who understand the difference between "Jamaat" and "Jamaat"-e-Islami know so, however I believe the gent who wrote the very first article in this thread is devoid of this distinction.
