Khan says they haven't got any security arrangement details from the government of India.
New Delhi: The ongoing saga of the ICC World Twenty20 match to be held in Dharamsala on March 19 between India and Pakistan is taking a long route of uncertainity. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan said that conflicting signals originating from India over Dharamshala have forced them to seek a change in location for the mega battle.
On Tuesday the BCCI confirmed that Dharamsala T20I will go on as scheduled, before reports emerged that Pakistan government has put the clearance on hold of the team to go to India.
According to a report in the Times of India, the PCB has sent a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday citing to shift the match from Dharamsala.

"I have sent an email to the ICC that if Dharamshala has a problem hosting Pakistan-India World T20 game, the match should be played either in Mohali or Kolkata. The Pakistan board is also open to the idea of playing it elsewhere as long as the safety and security of the Pakistani cricketers is taken care of,” said Khan.
Several reports made the rounds late on Tuesday that, Pakistani security team had advised the cricket squad not to travel to Dharamshala and therefore the trip to Kolkata on Wednesday may be delayed by another day.

PCB chief said told Times of India that, "The Himachal CM has not committed full security for the match and the Indian government has also not come up with any reassuring statement so far," Khan said.

He added that they haven't got any security arrangement details from the government of India and that they need to be told about the protesting force of Shiv Sena.
"Under the circumstances, how can we allow our team to play there? Our real problem is that we haven't got any security arrangement details from the government of India. We are still waiting to hear from them officially. We at least need to be told about the position of the protestors in Dharamashala or about Shiv Sena's threat," Khan said.

The final call will be takenm after the PCB speaks to the Pak government.

Reports also suggest that the PCB wants the match to be held in either Kolkata or Mohali as it would also be beneficial to them.

I think we should move the game to Kolkata. Not fair for Pakistani team to be put under unnecessary stress of security issues.

As for the FANS.. its upto the fans what to do what not to do.. you are visiting and foreign land, obey rules... thats it.. its no rocket science.. GoI will NOT be responsible if someone acts with his d*ck ..

And if you want to pull out.. just do it.. threatening wont help you at all.. because you will be the one paying fine.. no host country or host team.

Due to security concerns Twenty20 match on March 19 is likely to be shifted from Dharmsala to Eden gardens.
Dharamsala’s loss may be Kolkata’s gain as the marquee India-Pakistan encounter of the ICC World Twenty20 on March 19 is likely to be shifted to the iconic Eden Gardens here.

The official confirmation from the ICC is awaited but according to top a BCCI official, Kolkata has the “highest” chance compared to other prospective venues like Mohali and Bengaluru.

In a late night development on Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board had put its team departure to India on hold following security concerns for the marquee match originally scheduled to be played in Dharamsala.

“Logistically, and from security point of view, Kolkata is the ideal place for the match as they would not have to travel to Dharamshala... It’s feasible from broadcasting point of view as they would not have to the cost for taking the expensive broadcasting kit to another venue,” said a BCCI official.

The West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee in the past too had shown keen interest to host BCCI’s meeting with PCB after their proposed talk in Mumbai faced protest from Shiv Sena activists.

As per the ICC itinerary, Pakistani team are slated to camp in Kolkata where they will play two warm-up games (against Bengal, March 12 and Sri Lanka, March 14) and one in the main round against Group A qualifier March 16.

As per the schedule, Pakistan were to arrive in Kolkata on Wednesday and fly out to Dharamsala on March 17 but if the match is shifted they will remain in Kolkata till March 20 before heading to Mohali where they face New Zealand March 22.

The PCB was reluctant to play in Dharamsala citing security concerns.

“The Himachal Pradesh chief minister has not committed full security for the match and the Indian government has also not come up with any assuring statement... Under the prevailing circumstances how can we allow our team to play there?” PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Tuesday.

Big LOL at the Indian comments here . Have you guys seen your head to head record vs Pakistan both in ODI and tests? Before 2003 world cup we used to beat you guys so regularly it got boring . Only after 2003 world cup it got interesting . Javed Miandad ,Saeed anwar inzimam used to feast on bowlers like Prasad and srinath . Wasim , waqar and shoaib mauled your batsmen so regularly . We have a good 25 match lead in head to head contests in ODI and a handy lead in overall tests . You guys can keep your mini Streak if that makes you happy .

If it gets shifted to kolkatta i will be happy since indian's haven't defeated us over there . We have our own streak on that ground.

One the game of gentlemen turned into the threat game yet utilized for national interests. This is how things wrongly portrayed even the world witnesses the most intolerant stance which should not matter with sports at all. In case of any iota of doubt, Pakistan team should not be sent to play in India where the most concern is security of our team and supporters.

First concern should be the security of our team and supporters while on other hand puppet ICC is almost out of the action and seems to be the paid advocate for India even after all this happening.

ICC under the influence of India cricket board anyways it will spoil the game of cricket, for no our concern is security even the chief minister does't assure the security and Kolkata will be the right choice, lets see how things develops. Currently PCB is money starved they can't afford to lose money or even fines from ICC they should openly advocate Kolkata option.

.
Has anyone noticed that both Mohali and Kolkata are the only Indian pitches that are a bit bowler friendly. Very sly Mr Shahryar Khan. Indeed showing you're a good diplomat. I'm sure that the BCCI will notice it.
