TAI general manager Temel Kotil answered the questions of Fatih Altaylı on HT news channel yesterday evening. He said that 6 helicopters will be sold to the Philippines, in this program. This means that the Philippines will acquire 6 helicopters with the current configuration. A few days before this program, it was stated in some local sources that there were positive developments in the sale of LHTEC CTS800-400A to the Philippines and export authorization about to be issued.

Pakistan's Honeywell-LHTEC import restriction problems are not only related to Turkey. The USA is applying double standards to Pakistan in the fullest sense. Despite this, there is significant progress in this regard also. As both countries started working on alternative engine resources, the counterparty began to change their attitude.

Again, no news from the Philippines other than re-confirming what people already know - the US is still refusing to issue an export license to Turkey over LHTEC CTS800-400A turboshaft engine and Turkey is currently seeking help from Italy which has IP over the original AW 129 helicopter to acquire the engine.

Pak has defeated the USA in Afghanistan with the USA’s help!!! But, the US plan was to destroy Pak via Afghanistan with the help of Pak!!!! Now, Afghanistan means $, Lithium, geo-strategic fulcrum etc.!!! The USA has a right to be mad with Pak....

In your logic, just an agreement or text on the GE website was enough to prove that we had reached a definitive agreement, right? Now I guess you can keep your mouth shut, not always saying the same things like a parrot before you say the same words to others.

Yeah but lets be honest here Philippines is a 51st state of the US, off course US has no issues with engines to Philippines
1500 kg of ammunition capable ATAK-II, will make its first flight on March 18, 2023. In the first place, 2500hp Ukrainian engines will be use on the helicopter. ATAK-II will rival other heavy class attack helicopters as the 11 tons MTOW class.

Which means the indigenous engine will not be ready for ATAK II

so what hope is there for T129? is the engine for the T129 in a more advanced stage

could it be possible that the Turkish engine could be ready before 2025 for T129?

By the end of 2023, their tests will be finished, but it does not make sense because Pakistan does not have such a time.

No, you need an approval from the US government which has a final say on those matters. This is not my 'logic', but a 'fact' that apparently you are not familar with. Neither LHTEC CTS800-400A nor GE F404 has been approved by the US government. I would be appreicated if you could provide any information regarding to this matter.

I suggest you to learn more about how the US government controls export of certain items such as gas turbine engines, especially those listed on the United States Munitions List (USML) & the Commerce Control List (CCL).

No but TAI CEO Kotil said TS 1400 tests were begun on T625 (not flight test yet) if the initial results positive then why not it with TS1400 before certification since military applications dont look certification

But even if this all proceeds as planned it takes time. They have just run the second prototype and went on to the T625 and this will take still years of testing the engine, then integrating it into the T-129, certifying the engine and the engine on the T-129 and I'm sure Pakistan won't jump the wagon without decent additional testing to be sure it works.
Yes, it is a great progress and wish them all the best, but to think Turkey can deliver them to Pakistan within the next year or even 2023 is ridiculous.

Weren't they looking at Safran Arrano 1A engines? Maybe now is the time to strike a deal with those.

You are right. TEI CEO Dr. Mahmut Akşit stated that the engine tests to be carried out on the Gökbey helicopter will take up to 4 years. Therefore, it will take 5 years, with the most optimistic estimation, for the TS-1400 engine to be ready for the T-129 helicopter in accordance with military standards.

I guess things are looking to move towards Atak II with Ukrainian engine! Not a bad setup
