What's new

T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

How can it be embargoed if the engine is indigenous?
Who says it' s indigenous? It's still the US engine but in 1-2 years a TEI engine will be availlable, same one will be used for T129, T625 anf as turboprop variant in Hurkus.

the new negine will be ready in 4.5 year.. it was mentioned some time ago.. production will take another year at least

Im very happy about this kind of projects. You can sell this helicopter to civil costumer and real money comes from civil industry. If we want to increase our exports we must do more something like this project.
For example An-188 can be evolved to a civil airline plane and in civil industry you dont have to make it 100% domestic.Look at brasil they have an giant plane industry but they use foreign engines. We can do the same.If we can sell our planes to just our own airlines that would be huge profit.

Brothers,

Keep all those specifications of T-129 alive in your minds because the day When Turkish and Pakistani counterparts signed agreement to co-produce a proper version of T-129 for Pakistan requirements, I am going to remind you all those specifications of your own T or P-129 again... Personally, After Milgem cooperation agreement have done between two brother country, I have strong senses to make another great cooperation agreement for T-129 in those days too... It was also being registered by Pakistan authorities who have shown their interests for T-129 in inernational defence fairs...

Regards...

About time I believe.

seeing Zulus have been blocked, i think t 129 will be blocked as well due to engine

having said that this should extend from attack to ulitilty helicopter as well with indigenous engines

Everz case is a separete issue. You cant just assume that cause there were issues with zulus, there will be with Pakistan. US just recently delivered 4 enginees for the miligam project, for new ships build by Turkey for Paskistani Navy.

Actually Turkish defence secretery said that this week or next week we might expect a deal... soon we will find it out

"Ankara and Islamabad have signed a deal for the sale of 30 Turkish attack helicopters, according to an election manifesto the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party announced Thursday.

In a November 2017 interview with the Anadolu Agency, Pakistani Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said his country planned to procure 30 attack helicopters and four naval ships from Turkey.

Hussain revealed that Pakistan was interested in the T129 ATAK helicopter, developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries and the Italy-based AgustaWestland.

The gunship helicopter was added to the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces in 2014.

On March 23, T129 ATAK helicopters from Turkey participated in a fly-past ceremony in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad."
