well certainly 30000 people VS 1000 is asymmetrical also don't forget the technological Gap between two force also were Asymmetrical also don't forget Hezbollah was not like some guerrilla force from WW2 or Alqaeda that only attack and escape and hide in fact they stood their ground and after 33 day Israel army only managed to penetrate less than 20km into Lebanon now compare it with 1967 war that just in 3-4 day the Arab Capitals were effectively under SiegeIts said that Israel not even used 10% of their military strength against Hezbollah..it was a non-symmetrical war much like what Americans are doing in AF. The Syrian offensive , if it happens, will be a military to military conflict and Syria may match Israel for quantity but in quality..no chance Israel wins hands down. Also don't forget that Syrian Army is now highly factionalized. Most of the Free Syrian Army are former soldiers. There is a chance that many Syrian soldiers will simply desert as they will see this as a good chance to topple the regime.
another matter about Israel air-force is that they are very near to Syria Border ,and Syria have two many missile that can target those airfields I wonder how effectively Israel air-force can function if Syria decide each 3-4 hour send some missile toward those airfields and after Israel finished cleaning hem then again send another salvo there after all Israel airplanes are US made and everybody know how those planes are sensitive to the bumps on the runway .
