Minimum income is not a bad idea as long as the amount is barely enough for you to live. Anything more and you create an army of lazy people. You should always be better off earning a living, which means those in work should get topped up to total more than $2500.

Cost of living is one of the highest in the world, groceries are more than double as much expensive as Germany which is just 5 min. away with car.
Taxes on the other hand are lower than Germany.

banks lend money.. and earn income from that.. idle cash is a liability for bank, they have to give interest to depositors.. and run operation.. which means they lose money on idle cash.
