I'm not so sure prostitution is the key either. Normal sex doesn't appeal to rapists. They're only able to get off by having control and power over their victim. Within rapists, there are varying degrees of how heinous they will pursue they're crimes. Read about the Butcher of Rostov or John Wayne Gacy. Both were impotent and had no way to achieve sexual fulfillment unless they killed their victims. Rapists enjoy stalking, controlling and humiliating their victims. That's just what they do.

It'd be best to dump them all on an island somewhere away from society and tax payer's money.

I hope Indian government will bring in treason charges against these people too along with rape charges. Swift punishment to the rapists, minimum Life Sentence till death or Death by Hanging.

These horrendous case reminds us that we need to make our country safe for not only Indians but our guests from other nations.

Having said that, the crime occurred in a isolated place when the Swiss couple lost their way and stopped in middle of nowhere, spent the night in a camp. The culprits who are known criminals and robbers, saw them and took the opportunity to loot them and rape the woman.

Manhunt started immediately after Police understood the case and they arrested 7 suspects according to description provided by the victim. But it also highlighted the problem of language barrier in communication for Foreigners and absence of Women doctor for physical examination of a raped women.

All these issues are being looked upon and this case will be in scrutiny of not just by media but many NGOs.
