minarates had been forbiden by swiss in their own state and they have all the right to do it and this has been discussed before.

I agree , and i think they should do whatever they like to stop Islam from spreading.

All it will do is just maximize the numbers of people converting each day.

He is just another spineless, pathetic left wing politician who can not see this poll as a symbol for the frustration about the real problems with Muslim immigrants.
Although the ban is unlikely to even have any lasting effect (because of Swiss constitution and European courts of human rights) and does of course nothing more to tackle the real issues than sending a signal with uncertain consequences, it shows the frustration of the Swiss and by extension many Europeans with the unwillingness of a significant portion of the Muslims here to integrate and participate in society..

Daniel Streich, military instructor and, until recently, a Swiss People’s Party (SVP) politician in the city of Bulle, has left the party. The reason: He converted to Islam. For two years he kept this secret from his ex-party. Now, with the “witch hunt against Islam,” this situation has become unbearable for him.

He was a true SVPer and Christian. He read the Bible and regularly went to church. Now Daniel Streich, military instructor and community council member, reads the Qur’an, prays five times a day and goes to a mosque. “Islam offers me logical answers to important life questions, which, in the end, I never found in Christianity,” says Streich.

Because he could no longer stand the “SVP’s witch hunt against Islam” Streich left the part two weeks ago (around November 10, 2009) and has made his conversion to Islam become publicly known two years after his conversion. Now he’s participating in the building of the new Civil Conservative Democratic Party in the canton of Freiburg. The former churchgoer is vehemently against the minaret initiative: “If the initiative passes, it will be an absolute deep blow for me. I would have to ask myself, why I applied myself professionally and politically for over 30 years for this political system.” In contrast, Switzerland urgently needs more mosques. “It is not worthy of Switzerland to force Muslims to practice their faith in back alleys.”

Reactions in the SVP were mixed. “Everyone can believe what he wants to,” says General Secretary Martin Baltisser. SVP-National Council member Alfred Heer had a less friendly reaction. Politcal scientist Georg Lutz: “The SVP and Islam stand closer to each other than people suppose. Both advance a conservative worldview.”​

Asim bhai in this case i say let them do Everything against Muslims in EU to stop Islam from spreading . Inshallah it will do more good than bad and people converting to Islam would be in a sky high number.

I have just witnessed an Australian Eng student converting to Islam, Muhammad yousaf and Rao Iftikhar Anjum were also present and over a crowd of 200 people in our tiny Uni Mushallah.

Its old alright, just the regular blind faith propoganda that he converted after campaigning to ban minarets - so that it becomes a miracle

Its not, he'd converted two years ago and now this news is being manufactured as a miracle by some tablighis.

Look at the date of the news .

Muhammad yousaf Converted to Islam in 2001 but announced in 2005.

Its not easy for a new convert to go along so quickly but they are indeed better than our neighbor " Munafiqeen " .
