In Pakistan, the nation is attempting to fund kits to build their own platforms for a class that I cannot name yet. We are assisting them so that, starting this year or hopefully next year, they can build these at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Ltd. (KSEW), with whom we’re setting up a joint venture.

If he fails to do so he is going to lose certainly in 2020 election, may be even in the primaries !!!

It appears the PN wants a squadron of OPV's (4 ships). Damen beat Swiftships to win the tender of 2 OPV's (under construction) + 2 optional. Swiftships had reportedly offered its 75m Swift corvette.

It has now been revealed that the Damen OPV's will be armed with anti-ship missiles, CIWS and AA guns. I am unable to understand what Swiftships intends to achieve with these repeated claims.

SWIFTSHIPS works only under FMS and FMF programs in Pakistan as they have mentioned in the article. They were earlier approached by Navy HQ to provide the Corvettes (among other US shipyards), they even hired a recently retired Pakistan Naval officer to manage the affairs, but owing to the US Government policy they backtracked when US refused to fund the deal through FMF. Hence Damen came in and filled the gap.
