Just last week some Indian members were taking cheap shots on power shortages in Pakistan.
One even pulled out a comparative table as a stick measuring contest.
Well, it's suffice to say, Maha Bharat......Andher Nagri. !!

Pot calling kettle black?????

We don't have 18-22 hours of power cuts that too in big cities.

We have very fast growing economy and we are among top power producers in the world.

In last 5 years we have added about 80,000 MW of new power generation capacity.

What about pakistan?? what have u done in last 5 years???????

Sir this is a defence section and how come this topic has any relation with defence. also haveing only one section does not means that you put any thing here, should we start posting cultural, religion, economy and other topics here.
If you failed to notice, the stuff which you are talking about is posted here only..

And if you wanted a pure defence forum this site would not be the answer to your needs.. you may try bhara*-Raksha*

Its a shame that so many Indians are getting so defensive - I saw the news and highlighted as an issue in all our regions. It simply will stop the economy developing and not attract new investment or business in.
In return we get posters denying there is a shortage, as if it doesn't exist, complaining at why its put in this section and putting down the writer. I think it would be more constructive to actually discuss what the gentleman has wrote rather than derail the thread.

Ok mr. Thinktak, can you give some constructive suggetion on how to solve indias power crisis?

We have created something called Pakistan Obsession.
You see this thread is about India and all you Indians like a possessed speices are dragging in Pakistan to hide your own shortcomings.
Do countries such as say China , Singapore or Malaysia need to tell the world of their achievements.....no.
But you Indians like a headless chicken go around with your banter or as the saying goes, empty vessels make the most noise. !!

No one is telling you of our achievements...
Its a thread about India and its power supply.. So obviously Indians will come and comment on it..!!
Or you will like All others except for Indians to come up and comment here?? Is that the idea??
There may be some deficiency in certain states, but overall the picture is quite okay.. Almost No-where there is 10-12 hours of load shedding...

What was the need, no one brought in Pakistan no one bragged about Indian achievements.. they were actually discussing the problem..
You started taking cheap shots and blamed those who did not even comment yet.. how stupid can you get man!

Almost No-where there is 10-12 hours of load shedding...

So what you want? You want me to lie..So here goes ..I have no power for 20 hours/day, but the reality is that my place have power 24 x 7 except for occasional outages due to some maintenance problems ..but that rarely exceed half hour.

@topic: I think the problem is the demand fast exceeding supply and the incompetence of CIL.

One hour power cut in Chennai and the same and lesser in Hyderabad.. some other areas have 1-3 hours, depends on the commercial establishments in those areas..

Ok mr. Thinktak, can you give some constructive suggetion on how to solve indias power crisis?

Whats the think tank got to do with the thread or my suggestion?

First suggestion i have is stop deflecting the issue and pretend it doesnt exist. In certain parts of India there is a serious shortage hence living in denial mode does not help in suggesting a remedy. I found the article alarming as the regular infestation last week were making dozens of sarcastic comments about the shortages in Pakistan and when it comes to the same issues they simply bury the head or say "its in the wrong section."
Secondly to resolve the shortage must be a long term strategy that must start now. Perhaps building better relations with neighbours and showing interest in pipeline projects would help - I am no expert in the field but if our country has anything to go by then you need to stop the politicians shoddy dilly dally approach and focus on the issue of power shortages as a primary concern.
The reason why i think it is a major concern is - India is showing good economic growth and it doesn't want itself to be held back with shortages of raw materials like this to its factories. It will perhaps hinder foreign investment.
Its sad that one or two Indians go into "loyalty and patriotic mode" and start getting agitated. Its good to show patriotism but not blindly - to point at others problems doesn't mean your own issues will disappear. To avoid agitation from the same people we will put the thread to rest...
