What's new

Swedish newspapers reprint Mohammed cartoon

By printing the cartoon you are asking for the trouble. It is not freedom. You are offending a large group by posting an inaccurate, offensive, wet dream picture.

If someone posted the picture of your female relative naked. Yes, you would go on to harm the news paper and its employees.

And no, i will not support the posting of that particular picture.

No.. I would not counter a criminal act by committing another criminal act. That would make me a criminal too.

Ok then you can choose to do protest outside your house by not eating and hope to get some publicity in the country some miles away.

@scrumpy
can u say the same thing to an american forum after jesus christ's cartoon is published in pakistan?

More over will they accept u?

I dont supporting bombing or killing... But u just cant leave and ignore...
It will be like ignoring an open wound which will expand and ultimately kill u.

What else west has been doing in iraq and afganistan?

Xinix, there are lots of other ways to register your protest. I believe a more saner response would be much more forceful then the way the Muslim world behaves. Whom do you think you are harming more by behaving this way. Cartoons are no justification for Murder.

.
Wow.. so many people ready to kill for some stupid cartoon. Why not leave God's work to God. What right do you have to take a life, bomb an office, etc.

I fully support the cartoonist and the Swedish paper's decision to print the cartoon. To cave in to threats of violence would be biggest mistake ever made.

Muslims have to learn to deal with such instigation in a calm manner. If you cannot do this, do not expect the world to accommodate you either.

If i publish the nude pictures of your sister in newspapers i will see if you react or not. I will see if you say if its Freedom of Speech or against human rights

for Muslims nothing is above our Prophet. Not even our Parents.......... not even our own life

And i am not getting emotional....... it is the truth

Playing with others religion, moral values is not a joke. It has nothing to do with freedom

It would be dishonest of me if I said that I knew the best option to register my protest. But I do know acting in a hot headed impulsive fashion is not the right way.

How about using the Gandhi way to attack the conscience instead. What if you get the paper to publish an article explaining the religion and how the cartoon issue generally affect Muslims in general would go a long long way in developing pressure among the news paper readers against such acts.

That would be a criminal act which I am protected against.

Being emotional is not an excuse for committing a crime. Why doesn't any one stop to consider that murder and preaching murder are probably bigger sins then drawing these cartoons?

Nobody is supporting a violent response. The response however will not be fruitful after you publish the photo, something that you knew when you posted.

Moments ago we were discussing the validity of publishing the picture.

The case in that point of view is closed. There is no argument left in that context.

Well just like that saying something bad about our Prophet(SAWW) is also a criminal act which can not go unpunished.

Friends, please calm down. If you are muslim and are offended by this, please consider the following in a cool fashion.

There are certain things so holy, that God Himself protects them. The Kaaba, the Quran, the Prophet and his Family are some examples. Now, throughout history evil people have attempted to destroy or insult these holiest of holies. However, the Quran itself tells us what happened to them. Recall the time when Abraha, a mighty King, decided to invade Mecca and attack the Kaa'ba. The Prophet's grandfather, who was the Keeper of the Kaa'ba and a monotheistic Haneef (before the time of Islam), said openly, "The Owner of this House is its Defender, and I am sure He will save it from the attack of the adversaries and will not dishonor the servants of His House."

You all know what happened after this. When the Prophet's grandfather, Hazrat Abdulmuttalib entrusted the defence of the Kaaba to Allah, Abraha was destroyed forever.

It is our belief that the Prophet and his family are the beloveds of Allah. If it angers us to see these cartoons being published, imagine how much it angers God. Why should we attempt to lessen the punishment of these swines by taking revenge as humans, when Allah has told us in the Quran:

[Yusufali 8:30] Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah.

Allah has promised us the day when no one will be able to abuse the Prophet or his true ummah:

[Yusufali 66:8] O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things."

Why are we then, so impatient? Let these swines continue their evil so that their punishment is made ever more miserable. Why should any muslim kill these people? Let them dig a deeper hole for themselves. The more punishment they get, the better. These are people from amongst the Jahiliya... they only deserve to be ignored.

I believe all religion should be open to criticism. This is fundamental necessity for an open tolerant society. Every possible action can be claimed to be against some religion or another. As an atheist, I could chose to say that I find your idea of god being extremely offensive to me. If we are going to chose to avoid hurting religious sentiments then I insist that you take my religious beliefs in account too and outlaw god. Don't you see a problem in this approach?

I respect your rights to believe in whatever you want. As long as you respect my rights to believe whatever I want.

True. But in an english speaking country, if you yell "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater you will cause a stampede and will not be protected by free speech laws. You will be punished.

However, if in the same country and at that same movie theater you yell "AAG" (Urdu for Fire), nothing will happen and at most you will be called a loud nuisance. In this example, everyone cares about "FIRE" and no one cares about "AAG".

The point is, depending on where you are, voicing certain beliefs very vocally will get you in trouble. It doesn't mean you are not allowed to hold those beliefs, but it does mean that you should - as a practical if irreligious man - realize that there are limits to everything. These are not absolute limits which apply evenly in every country, but rather vary by context (geographic, demographic etc.)

What happens when a group of bearded middle eastern Muslims speak loudly in Arabic at an American airport or in an airplane? What happens when the same thing occurs in Dubai? Different context, different result.

We, the Muslims, are our own worst advertisement. We neither have the emotional nor intellectual maturity to respond, except to get indignation and show violence. Just remember that logic must be challenged with logic and reason must never be allowed to be silenced by violence.

The world has come to believe that Islam is what practiced by Bin Laden, Taliban and militant Muslims who are presenting a distorted image of Islam. We must be honest with ourselves and admit that we all have presented an image that is partly to blame for all this mess.

I don't think you got the point of my post before this. Its a belief. It doesn't matter to me what you believe in and in my opinion, it should matter to you what I believe in.

What you are talking about is limits to freedom of speech which has been discussed countless times in this forum.

they know muslims dont like it ... they are making fun of rights of1.5 billion people .. Like danes these swedes want some controversial ,cheap shitty publicity , There is been enough drama about the danish cartoons ! its nothing but taking a piss with muslim world. what part of it was difficult to understand like other members stressed Prophet (PBUH) or Islam is more than any thing or any one dearest to us..!

.
At the times of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a kafir insulted Madinah (city of the prophet) in front of a Sahabah (R), and Sahabah took out his sword to cut his head off but Prophet (PBUH) stoped him

Please compare the compasionate and kind response of the Prophet when insulted in person to the responses of those who claim to be doing his will.

so now bombe blast against these swedish bastads are alowed!
Kill all these motherfucker ,who have print these cartoons!

they should blow that swedish news paper if they wana do Jihad

people are publishing such stuff we should torcher them to death
