Dude the post of CEA Requires technical expertise , contacts, networks and credibility in world class circles. These type of people don't grow on trees and certainly for a developing country like India they are hard to find. Everyone has skeletons in their closet if you look hard enough.

weighed the pros and cons and made a decision. What's wrong in that? What were the circs?
You seem to think that every single decision and every single person and especially Modi himself must be PERFECT and anything less than that you run down like a rabid dog in an alley way.
There is nothing wrong with criticism, in fact it is an essential mark of a grown up society but criticizing EVERYTHING and NEVER seeing the good is a mark of prejudice and vested interests.
BJP is short of talented people because they have not been in power all that long. India as a whole is short of capable right wing technocrats and intellectuals because the system has been set up with a leftist bent for a long time.
Do you assume that anybody who supports the current government are blind, ignorant religious bigots and that contradicting everything the government does makes one an intellectual?
Nothing is ever perfect, no leader of any country anywhere is perfect...not even close...not even Obama..or Xi Peng ..or for that matter Nelson. Mandela..or. Ghandi..or MLK...but on balance did they leave the world better off ?....so give me a break please .
