The usual means of identification is through govt issued documentation but those would be forged any way. As you said it is very hard to identify who is a Indian bengali or not. That's the problem. Tirupur isnt a small textile town. It has huge apparels industry with more than 40000 people working at that sector. And in a bid to reduce costs they are importing labourers from NI states. And they are now doing so without ID and others for less salary. Pathetic.

Compared to other towns in tamilnadu like chennai,madurai,coimbatore...etc tirpur is still small by size. No doubt tirupur has a huge textile industry. Well blame tamil nadu govt for all the freebies & power cuts for making the industry non-competitive. To remain in the game they need to move up the value chain.

I think we need to use our discretion regarding any reports in India related to Islamic militancy because there is a massive politicization of this issue in the country by a section of politicians and media.
