The Indian Army had conducted overnight surgical strikes across the Line of Control on September 29 on several terror launch pads.

Minister of State of the Ministry of External Affairs V K Singh on Wednesday said the aim of surgical strikes was to send a stern message to Pakistan that India will not accept continued terrorism as new normal. Speaking at Ministry of External Affairs’ mid-term press conference, Singh said, “The aim of surgical strike was to convey to Pakistan that we will not accept continuance of terrorism as the new norm. Our own good faith has been amply demonstrated time and again through repeated initiatives to normalise the relationship. However, as we have often stated, talks and terror cannot go together.” The press conference largely focused on MEA’s work in the last two and a half years.

Speaking on terrorism, Singh added that barring Pakistan, all the countries of the region have demonstrated their willingness to stand together against the menace of terrorism that could undermine their collective hopes. “India too, has shown that we will not back down in the face of assaults against the security of our people, the prosperity of the region and the interests of the international community,” he said. The Indian Army had conducted overnight surgical strikes across the Line of Control on September 29 reportedly in response to the dastardly Uri attack by terrorists from across the border which left at least 18 soldiers dead in its wake.

Highlighting the government’s priority in the protection and safety of Indians abroad, Singh said the welfare of our citizens, whether they are in Baghdad or Brisbane, has been the guiding priority of our Government over the last 31 months, and we have consciously placed it front and centre of our foreign policy. “We have let our actions speak louder than our words ever could – in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, South Sudan and in the wider Gulf region, and Europe and the Americas. We have done so, not only based on the principle that Indians abroad must benefit from the protection of the Indian state but also on the broader notion that each human life is sacred. It is this that motivated the rescue of 1947 Foreign Nationals from 48 countries stranded in Yemen, and many foreign nationals from Nepal following the earthquake in Nepal,” he said.

The surgical strikes targeted seven terror launch pads across using heliborne and ground forces. Several political leaders, cutting across party lines, have since hailed the Army for successfully executing surgical strikes and backed the Modi government’s decision as a befitting retaliation to Pakistan.

A surgical strike is essentially a swift and targeted attack on specific target that aims to neutralise them while ensuring minimum collateral damage to the surrounding areas and civilians. Neutralisation of targets with surgical strikes also prevents escalation to a full blown war.

It is clear that cross border raids did happen based on the BBC independent article, the video above from .25 seconds also shows that backblast from RCL were that were fired on Pakistani posts from point blank range at day time, clearly another instance of cross border action during day. The videos goes on show plenty of posts being systematically targeted and destroyed.

From your article..

""Despite the use of the term "surgical strikes", the Indians definitely did not airdrop commandos to hit "launching pads of militants" inside Pakistani-held territory, or conduct ground assaults deep into the Pakistan-administered side. But they did cross the Line of Control (LoC), in some cases by more than a kilometre, to hit nearby Pakistani border posts.""

for the blue part
: is this something new? arent your sidee accuse us of beheading bharti soldiers every few months?

so how it validates your army's accounts? is crossing LOC is called surgical strike in bollywood dictionary?

another Quote from article.. where are 40 militants?

""""Police officials on the Pakistani side privately concede that such a ground assault did occur in the Madarpur-Titrinot region of Poonch sector, west of Srinagar, where a Pakistani post was destroyed and one soldier killed.""

Why its difficult to accept that your army lied on massive scale to calm chaddis and average bhangi on eastern side?

"Joke" ?? Unfortunately for you .. your the biggest one here. A company is roughly composed of 80-160 soldiers, so two companies means around 160-320 soldiers + the same amount of casualties you term as "jihadi friends"Now before you continue with your stupidity do provide a single source (quote from where ever you want even your favorite indian source will do) that puts the casualties of either side in the same ball park as a "couple companies" ...
Reminds me of the same boasting you guys had back in 2001/2 standoff, where tall claims were made and the great supa puwa lost almost two thousand soldiers in Op. Prakram ...
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...ng-a-war/articleshow/45016284.cms?referral=PM

So that is your reality where post 2000's every tension on the border resulted in Indian side eating it's words after making tall claims. Same is the case here with the exception that Indian side actually tried to do a bollywood skit to pull the wool over the eyes of it's ordinary citizens who don't know any better and were sick and tired of your side making tall claims and when Pakistani military flexed it's muscle were like "ladies and gentlemen the standoff has ended because India has achieved major diplomatic victories."

Like given before, the Indian narrative has as much as 16 CONTRADICTIONS between themselves ... that's enough not just to question but dismissing the whole thing altogether. Add to that what the ISPR did to embarrass your narrative even further by taking international media to your claimed targeted sites ... and totally exposing the whole thing while the Indian media was feeding your side made up stuff to keep your little ego's intact because it didn't expect the entire facade to blow up in their faces this early in to the whole thing..

. .
There are some serious questions which the Indians need to answer,

1. Did they or did they not use helicopters, if yes then it is completely impossible because that part of the border is under SAM and Radar cover from Sakesar i believe, if they were not hit by ground fire they would surely have been taken out by SAMs or PAF.

2. If they crossed over on foot, did they climb over the fence using ladders or did they take out a section of the fence and then put it back? Why didn't they show the crossing over place on the media?

3. Did all the teams who crossed over into Pakistan came back without a scratch? I have not seen any reports of any casualties suffered by the teams. Again referring to point number 2, if they crossed over on foot how is it possible that they stayed inside Pakistan between 1 and 7 hours as reported by Indian Media and didn't face a single casualty.

I am hearing a lot of claims by Indian posters that Pakistani DGMO "Begged" to Indian DGMO to stop hitting PA on LOC, but nobody has provided any proof of the said statement. Another thing is that PA is showing videos of attack on IA across LOC and in IOK every now and then someone pops up shoots and scoots. What kind of begging is that?

Surgical strikes are recooked and serviced everyday as uri attack was almost forgotten and everything back to normal several days ago. Was it a drama show to support indias kashmir policies at that specific time and to raise pressure on Pakistan without evidence and with support and guidance of some other powers to pull it off you decide and are free to think.

Regardless of what the intensity of strikes or the estimated number of soldiers killed, one has to look at the grand outcome which as always had your DGMO asking for talks of de-escalation as soon as sustaining the hostilities were not possible for you anymore and your people knocking at UN door for sympathy only to be shamelessly ignored.

Brain farts right out of bollywood..cross border fire do happen and Pakistan does not respond with laddu filled cannon..your army even refused to own its causalities and a live soldier is still in Pakistan custody!

If real surgical strikes are to be discussed then Mumbai and Uri were good message to India..now shame that Indian forces cannot even meet the standards set by rag tag terrorist!

Now you are diverting
What do you want, should I show you the position of woman in pakistan

Well you sure can but Pakistan is not the one making empty threats here in an attempt to divert attentions from issues such as above.
