I think you have a point. Some people say Russia did alot more than Iran for Syria but i am unsure of that. Iran has serious manpower in Syria and Russia doesnt. THis was the situation in Iraq during the war- US controlled the skies and Iran controlled the ground. I feel the same is going on in Syria- Iran controls the ground, Russia controls the skies. You still need men with guns to hold teritory though- Su-30s wont hold cities in Syria for Russia...and as long as Iran has "competent" ground forces in Syria, Iran always has equity in Syria.
