Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Shashi Taroor has been found dead in a hotel room.

Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, wife of union minister Shashi Tharoor, has been found dead at a five-star hotel in Delhi.

Her body was found in room number 345 of The Leela Palace. Police believe it could be a case of suicide, according to PTI.

Police sources say Mr Tharoor informed the cops of his wife's death.

Yesterday, the couple issued a statement which said they are "happily married" and intend to stay that way." Their clarification came after Mrs Tharoor, in a series of tweets on Wednesday, accused a Pakistani journalist of "stalking" her husband and told some newspapers that she was planning to seek a divorce.

The statement said that Mrs Tharoor was unwell and sought privacy from the media.

The Tharoors were married in 2010.

Mr Tharoor had to resign from his first ministerial post in 2010 after allegations that Sunanda had been given a free stake in the Kerala team in the money-spinning Indian Premier League (IPL).

I wouldn't be surprised if Shashi Tharoor and other shady characters behind IPL got her assassinated. She knew too much about his IPL shenangians.
