When we know the co-ordinates, we can use missiles!
What's the difference?

Cheaper, Stealthier, can fire more in great salvos (since they're cheap), no contrail/smoke = harder to detect, these things can loiter for a long time, can be used as decoy (even more cheap), can be used as EW assets to disrupt enemy radars/confuse them.

For all the above, you need different types of missiles and they ain't cheap.

If you integrate advanced AI in the above drones, things will be even better. Like swarms of birds, reacting to everything the enemy does.

Missiles are also not very agile as drones.

Obviously these are to be used in a time of war. Their speed can be reduced to not alert the enemy. They can also stay low to the ground and circle around known radar locations.

We can even put RAM (Radar Absorbing Material) onto these drones to further reduce their detection. Some can act as EW assets to jam enemy radars until shot down. Some can act as decoys, etc etc.

Lots of imaginative ideas.

Everyone has the right to voice their opinion, whether experienced or not.

Using drones in that fashion is the new air warfare. A very good option against S400 and other air defenses. A networked fleet of drones with varying sizes and capabilities fired from varying launch pads can cause havoc on any modern air defense. Pakistan am sure is working on it. My point abt the topic was not abt capability but long term repercussions.

Who said india doesnt have thousands of missiles? A country of that size keeps a huge stockpile. Our economy cant even sustain war for 2 weeks.
So ur conclusion is that india launching missiles is not simple and yet Pakistan launching drone swarms to destroy their airfields and military installations is simple???? Pfff no need to argue with this level of IQ.

My concept is simple, have a truck with 9 suicide drones launched towards targets within about 600 miles range from LOC like command posts, barracks, airbases. Only input needed would be GPS data.

You can base the drone of something like the Harop.

• Length: 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in)
• Wingspan: 3.00 m (9 ft 10 in)

Performance

• Range: 1000 km ( miles)
• Endurance: 6 hours 0 min

Armament

• 23 kg warhead

Targeting data is right here, dispatch 5 or so drones towards each airbase runway with anti runway and anti personnel munitions and call it a day. Indian jets would be hard pressed to take off successfully and I highly doubt the drones could even be spotted on radar.

India operates these, Pakistan can use the same type of weapon against them.

It gives loitering time to confirm targets, especially in the case of mobile targets.

Essentially its a hybrid of a stand off missile and a UAV.
