that is alot on the table....Just out of curiosity...DO INDIAN forums allow such things about Pakistan?!

Sorry if I offended you but it is a genuine question as I heard Indian mods are stricter in their forums...

I support the idea of a mod for Indian Defence. But it wouldn't be easy to appoint a mod from among them who would be accepted by both secular Congressis and hindutva BJPs. It'd be injustice to make a secular 'congressi' moderator over a group 90% of which consists of Hindutvavadis/closet Hindutvavadis. Again it'd be a graver injustice to appoint one from Hindutvavadis considering that they are a minority of Indians in real life. Moreover given the bad history between Ind and Pak anyone selected by the mangement would be viewed with suspicion by all Indians irrespective of their party affiliation. Now we Bangladeshis are loved (and hence I dare say trusted) by Indians of both political ideologies (I can show ample evidence from history and from posts by Indians on this forum too). So I would suggest to @WebMaster to make a BD member the Int'l Mod for Indian Defence. And for the interim period you may bring it under @Loki's jurisdiction.

I have a bad feeling that quality of posts has gone down in last 3-4 months, I feel there should be some sort of mechanism by which senior mods can focus on high intensity trollers. It will boost the site performance a lot. Personally I hesitate to ask my friends to come on this site. Recently when I tried the same in front of my friend, most of the threads were not related to defense & above all post quality were not not up-to the mark. I wanted to show them that there is one virtual family where we share whatever we want to on certain topics, no limit on information sharing. But I really felt bad that day. Most of the senior members have even stopped giving advices to new joinee after seeing multiple problems like bad quality post, name calling, mud slanging like this. When I am at home, I have to take care that no other person is looking on the posts(it's not due to Pakistan based site but seriously due to the post quality.) Even I have observed Windjammer has become quite adjustable than earlier he was. These kind of things are remarkable & can be used in favor of improving the site.

Actually, the quality has moved up now. About 6-8 months back, there was a real absence of quality members and posts and alot of trolling was happening, but now the quality is on the up. It would take time though...

Unnecessary trolling should be stopped in each every thread, Nationality shouldn't be considered in this case.

False id's solely created for the purpose of trolling should be banned permanently.

Discussions should be done in a polite way, whether one agrees to a point or not. Abusive and racist post shouldn't be tolerated at all. Immediate ban should be imposed on those who fail to comply to that. People should know that they are discussing with other people here and it's not a place for street fight, so a level of decency should be maintained.

I think if these are maintained it'll make the forum a better place and improve the hygiene level.

1) I have seen Pakistanis complaining here and out side that this forum has become anti pak by allowing Indian POV,by not showing enough positive bias towards Islamic values and pak POV as a policy, etc But I have different POV and my complaints are just opposite to what Pakistanis make , I think this forum is already showing more than enough negative bias towards Indian POV and Indian members , I believe in fair and equal chance of freedom of expression to all parties, setting a biased posting rule and biased moderation will look like you are afraid of that particular point or argument being made, that makes it appear that you don't have a logic counter argument for the point being made by opposition, and people who ask for too much home ground advantage is those who lack ability to make logical counter arguments.
2) why can't this forum get rid of habitual trollers, many elite and senior trollers, every body know who they are, they become seniors and elites with the help post counts,thousands of posts which contain nothing but non sense, and it doesn't take more than a minute to make such stupid posts, people who take time and effort to make good quality posts and arguments look like fools because trolls take away all the senior, elite statues with sheer number of posts.
3)why can't we have hall of shame thread where all latest infraction with members name and post which earned infraction is displayed, to be Frank I think moderation policy towards Indians is harsh while Pakistanis complain that Mods are lenient towards Indians, some transparency would give all the members a clear picture in this regard.
4) There must be some ranking based on something other than post counts, some kind of +/- reputation for good quality or low value posts.

I agree with and want to put some weight on the bold part.This is a serious issue and needs to be taken care of.
I have seen it in different threads, two people quoting each other again and again insulting each other in doing so and the end result is waste of bandwidth and the thread becoming a trolls feast. I personally think more than three quotes between two people should invoke a ban for day.(three are enough to make your point)

Obviously, there should be a certain time limit before you get PM's. And I say time because you can troll and get 2000 posts or 10000 posts, but you can't troll and stay on PDF for over 2 years. Any suspect cases shouldn't be given the PM's, but really, the vast majority do deserve them, you have to trust us that much. Other than that, it will raise quality, no more random, where were you's in the thread, instead we'll just PM each other that. Also, if two members are having an off topic discussion, they can continue in PM, without derailing. Please consider this

I think it was a technical issue, but surely they've solved it by now. I think it's because of PM drama that might have happened, probably some idiots spending 100 PM's to a female member or something

Did you tried looking at people available at the bottom. You can see mods there.
